how many tomb worlds are there in the galaxy?

are necrons just starting to awaken?

how many necrons are there in the galaxy awake & sleeping billions,trillions?

is it true tyranids cant consume necron metal to create a new organism?

will the void dragon awaken again? where are his forces? i ask this because i heard that when the void dragon was awake & battling the eldar the eldar has to deploy titans to combat basic void dragon troops

Numbered for ease
1)There is no exact number given by GamesWorkshop, quite simply any world could be Tomb World but most aren't. Its not as though the necrons left a sign or map to al their tomb worlds before going into stasis
2)Quite simply, yes and No. Most necron forces you read about in the fluff are scout parties (with a few exceptions) as Tomb world only wake up when disturbed. After this it had to slowly wake up each individual unit before sending it out into battle. So you have some Tombs that are/have been fully awakened and others that are still slumbering
3)No-one knows for sure the exact numbers. However given that the Necrons were at one stage the 'rulers' of the galaxy it could be Billions or Trillions. But again no exact numbers have ever been published
4)This is more or less true. The fact that Necrons Phase Out when damaged or beaten basicly means they are depriving the Tyranids of being able to eat them. Whether a Tyranid could eat a Necron and then have the Necron Phase Out from within its stomach is entirely possible, but very hard to prove
5)Probably yes, but gamesworkshop will never move the timeline far enough along to have it happen. The Dragon himself is believed to be on Mars, but as to his forces no-one can be quite sure, as we don't know where the Dragon was sleeping before he woke up. His Troops are rumoured to be more Technologically advanced than any others and the Eldar did have their hands full with him. Up to the point of building the Blackstone fortresses to deal with him.

what's the void dragon? My Necron fluff ends with the 2002 codex...I know there's SOMETHING on Mars, but not what.

And where did we find out about the VD?

The Void Dragon is rumoured to be the most powerful of the C'tan. It is mentioned in the Necron Codex, in the stories about the Mechanicum heretic and the Eldar Prophesy-however it is known only by the name 'dragon' if memory serves.
We 'find out', or at least infer the Dragon is on Mars through the Horus heresy Book 'Mechanicum', which is worth a read

Basically you know the whole 'George and dragon' thing?

Emporer=George
Dragon=Void Dragon

The Emporer drove his lance tipped with some awesome metal that the void dragon was weak against or something (silver I beieve), and then with a very powerful manly throw, cast him to mars and entombed him in the centre of the planet. Although this was only on possible for the Emporer to do because the only reason the void dragon was on Earth in the first place was that the Eldar has just shot it in the face with a blackstone fortress, weakening it considerably

1) No data available. Probability from hundreds to millions of planets.
2) No data available. Tomb Worlds only awake if disturbed. No other activity reported.
3) No data available. Numbers unknowns, assumed billions of warriors all across galaxy.
4) No data available. Necron-Tyranid conflict never recorded. Probability of Tyranid consumption of Necron metal under investigation.
5) No data available. Void dragon defeated by the Emperor long ago, Void Dragon fate unknown. Future rise uncertain, invastigation is underway.

The Emperor doesn't have a GKs unshakable faith in the Emperor which is....basically himself?

It sounds like the void dragon might be 'the omnisiah'. is the machine god mentioned in that book at all?

It would be a waste of a good third of the codex if the Machine god was not the Void Dragon. They reference it quite heavily and even say that a dragon speaks with those in the Noctis Labrynth.
