Yes peeps its time for the Six Nations to start again tomorrow (Wales vs England 7.30 GMT) and so I thought I would start a thread for discussion and the all important trash talk.
For those not in the know this is the traditional yearly northern hemisphere, well European rugby tournament.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Six_Nations_Championship
Being English I have my eyes on the first game. The Taffs have a few injury worries in critical positions and a seeming lack of strength in depth, England on the other hand have had some strong performances in the Autumn but also a few critical injuries. This is always a tough test with a hostile crowd which I am finding difficult to call.
Is Warren Gatland (Wales coach) and Jonathan Davies (pundit) right to suggest Hartley could be England's weak link? I would suggest not but he has let sides down before.
Putting my cock on the block; I will be putting my money on England to win by 5-8 points. What do you think Dakka?
What about the other games?
Any Frenchmen think that this is your year?
Any Italians have a view on the apparent improvements in their squad?
Any Irish think that O' Driscol is too old?
Does Scotland have a team?

Looking forward to it. Only recently got into Rugby, so still not very up on it. Quite spoilt in that my local team is Leics Tigers.
I'll be rooting for England come tomorrow.
Do you know what channel it's on mate? If it's sky I'll have to be down the pub (for shame).

Another mission, the powers have called me away. Another chance to carry the colours again. My motivation, an oath I've sworn to defend. To win the honour of coming back home again. |

Now, that's what I call a good thread!

I hope so! I'm quite optimistic. No major injuries lately for our players and a reasonable team composition for the first match.
I haven't took a close look to the other teams, so I can't make a good pronostic for now.
THis year I'll try to get tickets for a match or two.
I'm waiting for the home match with Scotland. It's always a good time! When Scottish supporters come to Paris it's generally a good time!

Wait I thought this was going to be a thread about the Locatah gathering the tribes for Little BigHorn II "this time we have casinos." Frazzled is disappoint.

If I had to put cold hard cash down I'd go for Wales tomorrow and France for the overall championship.
Ireland should do Italy tomorrow (it will be tough though) but Im less hopeful in the long run. I think the 6 nations win 2 years ago was a little lucky and we arent as strong as we were then imo.

I'm still ticked off at the lack of Locatah, Dakotah, and Cheyenne in this thread. You should know that.

As my Mrs has repeatedly pointed out it is all be on the Beeb, so she has cut off my reason to go to the pub at the source! I'll have to try the rugby club instead.
@ Lord of Battles - sounds cool. Wales is one of the great touring locations if you are not English They promote all kinds of debauchery there so pack a spare liver. One Welshman tried to get us to tour to his town the next year stating that it was like a free brothel for anyone with half a brain and a knowledge of rugby. It was a very hard invitation to ignore!
@ Frazzled - HOW!
Nowa Gowa Awaya
[sounds pretty injun to me]

It probably won't be more than that. I think England have more chances to win theorically , but a small voice tells me that Wales can win by 3-5.
I'm not expecting a large victory, whoever wins the match it will be a good show!
Tommorow it'll be Scotland vs France.
I think France can win by 13-16. Am I too optimistic?
What do you think?
