Hi Dakka,

So my friend and I had a small 500pt skirmish last night. He was running 6 bikers w/warlord all had power klaws but 1. My question is can his whole unit have klaws? also as a Space Wolves player how can i punch threw there 2+ save and 4+ cover save.This weekend we will be playing 1500pts I plan on running

2x Rune Priest
3x Wolf guard combi melta power fist
2x9 Greyhunters
5x Greyhunters
4x Thunderwolves
2 squads of Longfangs with 4x missiles
3x Razorbacks, and 2x Rhinos

Some tactics to counter this unit would be great.

Im assuming its nob bikers with a warboss. But ya idk where hes getting this 2 plus save from. They do always have a 4 plus cover save, as well as a 4 plus save, and he may have given them a 5 plus invul. Best way to take care of nob bikers is rune priest with jaws. Long fangs could put in work if he starts failing those 4 plus.

And yes he can give them all klaws if there all nobs

At 500 points, 6 biker nobz with just powerklaws is over. And that's not including the cost of a warboss. If he had the painboy and other upgrades too, he'd be way over.

And Ork Bikes only give a 4+ armour save and a 4+ cover save, there is no 2+ save.

Your friend's been cheating.

Thunderwolves with power fists will wreck his day, since they can OHKO nobz.

Theres no such thing as auto wounding. However, AP4 or better will ignore there armor. But he still has cover.

Basically he'll always have a 4+ of some kind against all kinds of shooting except for flamer templates with decent AP values.

But any good unit of Nobz should have cybork bodies and FNP anyway, so it's not a huge loss.
Of course, that still doesn't change the fact that your opponent is way over points.

Nob Bikers x6 = 270

Power Klaws x5 = 125

Altogether - 395 points. Leaving 105 for a Warboss with a bike, and a Big Choppa.

I'm assuming an extra powerklaw, since he said Nob bikers and a warboss with all but one of them having a klaw.

Either way, S8+destroys them, give one or two of your thunderwolves a TH/PF and watch them all die horrible deaths.

And fire krak missiles into the nobz. The warboss will be able to take one, but every one after that that goes through is a dead nob.

Jaws would be the easy way. Take 2 or 3 priest with JAWs and keep doing it every turn. There only I3

You need Str8+ to kill them pretty much. Their Invul is only 5++ even if he has Cybork Bodies, against shooting they are far more durable because of their Cover save. The only problem is that they are fast and can avoid assaults from most units they can't deal with, but TWC with a PF or TH should be enough.

I'm not sure exactly how much firepower it will take on average to kill them, so I can't say if your list will work the best, but be careful, because if they end up taking all the hits, the rest of his army could cause some serious problems later on, unless he went for the pure Nob Bikers list, which is so unbalanced I would highly advise against it.

A pure Nob Biker list can be easily cleaned up with a few Vindicators. You'd probably lose one, but a second or third one would wipe the nobz off the table so quickly (assuming they had no loota support) that you could just call your win right there.
