So, I've got a game of Planetstrike arranged this wekend for the first time and I'm playing Eldar @ 2000pts against MEQ.

I'm looking for some advice/ideas on what kind of list to field i.e troop heavy? lots of heavy support?

I own a mech army but i have guardians x20 as well as the usual decent choices from the Eldar codex.

Any ideas? I'm not looking for a MEQ taylored list just an idea what will work better for defending.

Thanks

Defender in planetstrike is always a challenge. I would load up on Falcons. My goal would be to tank shock him off of the objective on the last turn. You could also take lots of min dire squads in wave serpents.

I do not think that jetbikes, rangers, or guardians will be of any use. As a defender you cannot contest objectives. Your rangers and guardians will be assulted because everything can deepstrike.

Wraithlords may work if you think your army can beat his in hand to hand combat, which against meq is not likely in planet strike.

Do you have to start on the table in planetrike? If your army is mostly/all fast moving you could start in reserve and counter-attack as he drops, negating his deepstrike plans.

Eldar Corsairs: 4000 pts
Imperial Guard: 4000 pts

Corregidor 700 pts
Acontecimento 400 pts

You can reserve everything if you wish as a defender but you have to roll for which table edge.

Might try a reserve army using 2x Autarchs and all my heavy support.

It would be pretty good to come on from his drop zone board edge for rear armour!

6 Fire Prisms can squish pretty much anything. Double up for anti-marine pie or land-raider busting goodness and just go all out against hordes.

If you're planning on going heavy in with the reserves, War Walkers are cheap and with luck, your starcannons can make a decent points-profit on the turn they walk on.

There's just an acre of you fellas, isn't there?
