Well, my attempt to get a picture that showed any detail at all has failed, so I'll just take a shot in the dark.

Just finished painting up a couple of 'squads' of Necron Warriors. Black primer, Boltgun Metal 'skin', black guns, and some Scorpion Green in their ribs and in some of the gun's bits.

Trying to figure out where to go from here, if anywhere.
Black Ink/Wash? Gloss varnish? Matte varnish? All three? Just leave them as-is?
Suggestions? And a quick explanation on how to use any of those?

Sadly, I think this is the best I can do for now.
I really need to figure out how to take better pictures with this camera, if possible.

Id say a green wash on all the green bits and either a geryphonne, devlin mud or black wash depending how you want them to look ie dirty (dwvlan) rusty (greyphonne) or just a bit darker, all will add lowlights and gives you a chance to play with light highlites with your base colour, hopethat helps

The biggest difference you can make is doing the base, I reckon.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Was waiting until the model itself was done being painted.

Looking pretty good, I'd definately give it a black wash; it will shade the entire thing for you. You can then touch it up with some mithril silver highlights if you want. The only problem is the wash will run into the recesses you painted green, you might have to redo this part and leave it till the end for the next ones you do.

So wet the brush in wash, and brush it over just about the whole model? Would be my first time washing (whew I stink!).

Yep, you can use a slightly larger brush. Just dip it in the wash (ill assume your using Badab Black) and go over the entire thing, you can apply it quite heavily without running into problems although try to avoid this. The main objective is to apply the wash and have it drain into the recesses.

"Black Ink", actually.
I've had it a while. GW's names for their colors used to be different.

OH! If your using the old GW black ink you are gona have to dilute it with water, that stuff is too strong to use neat as a wash. I'd go with 1 part ink and 4 parts water.

I just ran out of my last black ink When I first tried Badab Black I thought whats wrong with this ? Why is it so diluted!

Whew! Good thing you let me know, I didn't realize there was a difference. I'll give that a try, thanks for the suggestion.
