I was slowly going stir-crazy insane painting my never ending hordes of
IG, so decided to grab something different to paint on Saturday morning.. I ended up with the awesome carnifex plastic kit, and decided to try to finish it to a reasonable level in a weekend.
A really aggressive, dynamic look is what I wanted, and decided it had to have talons, so took my first foray into the world of greenstuff, chopping the upper arms from some I wasn't using and grafting them on to the talon arms to make a more poseable, aggressive, triple jointed look.
I also greenstuffed (Is that even a word??) two carapaces together for a solidly built look, and a curving spike on the carapace top, then stuck as many spikes on it as I could without it looking silly! I don't think it turned out too bad. I tried to paint the hard parts of the figure look like bone, and deliberately painted the head a darker colour to contrast with the sticky, glossy tongue. Apologies for the poor camera shots (as usual)
Anyway, I just finished it, hurrah! \0/
Oh, the base is made from painted pistachio shells by the way, because..... um.... well just because
