So I had a bunch of trees that I had used white glue to glue sand down with, and the other day I went to the basement and all of the sand had lifted up from the plastic base, but all the sand was still glued together.  Anyone else had this problem?

Any recommendations for other types of glue to be used?

The strangest part was that it only happened on the ones that I had gone around the edges with goblin green, the ones I just left black I had no problems with.  None of y mini's has been affected, but perhaps that is because I seal them with a semi-gloss?

I appreciate any feedback!

Thanks,

Yeah it's happened. So far the minis I've glued down and
then primed don't seem to have a problem (yet). I'll find out
soon enough.

Dunno what could be causing that. On my bases I use a combination of white glue (to get the sand & such to stick) then a douse of thin super glue which cures instantly upon contact with the white glue. Stuff dries hard as a rock and looks good to boot. I bet a couple drops of superglue and pushing the peeled up bits back into place would solve yer problem tho. Good luck & enjoy! I have had this happen to me also.  I believe it only occurs on bases that have not been primed.  I used some super glue to fix the problem.

Thanks guys. I'll have to try priming it first. I'm also thinking about covering in the minwax that i use for dipping. That seals it in fairly well, I think.

Priming the bases, or even just giving them a simple coat of non-primer paint (ie goblin green, etc) works for me.
