Hey guys,

Iwas wondering about some issues between modeling and tournaments. I know that to be accepted in a GW tournament, all your models have to be at least 50% or 70% GW (or FW). But what about the bases, and the "minor models"?

Bases: can I use basing kit for other suppliers?

Minor models: That's the point where I really can't see an answer. Let's say I have a dreadnought, and I want him walking over a dead body. Can this dead body be another supplier model? Another example: Chaotic Land Raider, have some corpses or prisoners attached to his hull. Can they be another supplier models?

Thanks!

I dont think anyone would have any problems with any of that as long as it is around 70%.

Their should be no problems with the TOs. After-market bases are accepted as is the use of any type of basing material from any source.
I think the only issue that may arise is if for some reason your model/painting is so fantastic that GW wants to publish pics in White Dwarf their could be copyright issues if your using another companies models/parts as part of the diorama; ie: a GW dreadnought squishing the head of a Warmachine Warjack.

Wouldn't it be legally ok to have the dred crushing the jack? Isn't that just like the Ford truck commercial pulling the Chevy out of the mud?

I think the rules are different in the UK. I know that back in France, what advertising you have in the US, where one brand is showing another one to laugh at it, would be forbidden

They would actually be making money by showing a quite recognizable other supplier's model, not sure they can do it
