I've probably missed this somewhere or looked in all the wrong places so forgive my noobishness if it was right in front of me.

Do IC's attached to vanguard vets prevent the heroic intervention deep strike assault? Or do they share the ability ala Snikrot/warboss, telion stealth/non-camo scouts.

Specifically, can Dante join a unit of vanguard vets, allow them to not scatter, and pretty much assault whatever they want when they arrive?

No, an IC can join them (if equipped appropriately ), but they then lose the ability to assault.

Last line on page 27 on the Veteran Squads page explicitly tells you that Heroic Intervention can not be used when a IC is attached to the Vanguard Squad.

The reason for the difference is that snikrot grants the ability to his squad so an IC joining would also get the ability whereas Vanguard all have the HI ability as standard and it'll stop working when an IC (that doesn't have it) joins.

(there aren't any ICs that have Heroic Intervention but you never know - it might actually make them useful...)
