I just picked up the circle of orboros book and finally pieced together a list for a 25pt army. Let me know what you guys think for my very first hordes list.
Kromac the Ravenous - +4bp
-Feral Warpwolf - 9
-Gnarlhorn Satyr - 8
-Gnarlhorn Satyr - 8
-Gorax - 4
Now, it is alot of beasts to run, and kromac doesnt do much help mitigate fury except that he helps them move around a bit with warpath, and grants free charge/slams with wild aggression. Here are my thoughts on Kromac and this list.
I like Kromac, he sort of reminds of a gladiator or something. He doesnt hit that hard, but he seems like he could wipe out warcasters in beast form. What I like are his spells. Wild aggression not only grants free charge/run/slam/trample, but it also boosts attack rolls, which means you can spend your fury on extra attacks or boosting damage instead, thus adding a ton of damage output. Warpath is not useful in this list, as only kromac can activate it and the game will likely be over if he is in melee. I love Rift, it is an excellent offensive spell, I just wish it had longer range. Big AOE, hits hard enough to kill most infantry, and creates rough terrain, perfect. His +2ARM/fearless upkeep is great for circle, since they are all low ARM, even their heavies, but his buff will make my gnarlhorn ARM 18, same as a cygnar ironclad. Bestial is great, but if you are close enough to the enemy caster for it to work, then you would probably just feat and charge into the caster instead of casting this spell.
Here is my thought process on how to run this list. The gnarlhorns flank the feral warpwold, leaving a good 4in from it. Kromac follows close behind with the gorax nearby. They advance like this into forests and cover etc. The gnarlhorns safeguard the feral and kromac with their counter slams, If the enemy tries to tangle up a satyr to prevent the slam, you have the second opposite him to cover as well. When the gak hits the fan, the idea is that I would toss the gnarlhorn and gorax animus on the feral, along with upkeeping wild aggression. This would give you a feral that runs/charges/tramples/slams for free, charges an extra 2in and hits with 2 POW 19 claws and a POW 18 bite and has an effective MAT 11 on the charge attack that is boosted for free. It would also charge 11in and would be able to buy four attacks, meaning something is eating 6 POW 19 and a POW 18 all boosted hit. so, you crush your opponent's heavy that is guarding thier caster/lock, then blow kromac's feat and charge past the warpwolf to get at the caster. If I am not mistaken, Kromac can threaten 16in when in beast form? (6+3+5 jump, +2 reach.) and can make a total of 16 POW 14 attacks?

feral wapwold, have you seen the dominion book already
OT: I think the list has potential. It is about getting the assasination. You might struggle against some of the more infantrycentric armies, but that is where the assasination really counts.
furthermore you can't stack multiple animus on 1 beast. Wild agression and a animus is cool, but not 2 animuss...
Lastly the jump-rule clearly states you can't charge and jump. You can only advance then jump.

heh, slow down there, I just got the circle book a few days ago!
That is too bad about the animus, and the jump rule! It seemed as though kromac's jump was practically designed to be used after a charge rule.

It's more designed to be able to say "Yeah, I see that you have that huge 'jack/'beast blocking my LoS to your 'lock/'caster so I can't charge. That's ok, though, because I'm just going to walk up and then jump over your 'jack/'beast. And it's a placement, so no free strikes." You then proceed to laugh maniacally as you rip them apart. Just pray you succeed. I have the same thing pretty much on my Raek, and I've used it multiple times to get past whatever my opponent had blocking their 'lock or 'caster.

hi!
My thoughts as i have been running Kromac lately:
The only thing that has pathfinder in your list is Kromac. This isn't a good thing as Circle really relies on mobility to be effective. You'll do fine in a table without a lot of terrain but otherwise its going to be tough.
Rift: With such a low model count army, you wont be using this spell at all. unless you're sure you wont need the fury for transferring damage later on. You dont have a lot of stuff screening kromac and even if you do screen him with a heavy all i need to do is slam the heavy and KD two models. and that rough terrain you leave behind might actually prevent you from charging effectively as well
This is your fury breakdown for the first two turns:
1st turn: 2 - Wild aggression (feral or gnarl), 2 Inviolable Resolve (feral or gnarl), 3 warpath = Kromac at 0 fury
2nd turn: Upkeep Wild aggression, Inviolable Resolve, 3 warpath = Kromac at 4 fury
Now you can cast rift with whats left, but youll probably need to boost the rolls for attack and damage for that at turn 2 with 0 fury you're painting a bullseye on Kromac's forehead
Gnarlhorn: ARM 18 Def 12 = These guys are easy to shoot and while durable, can easily lose an aspect or two before they can do anything. Counterslam is nice but dont rely on pulling it off everytime as a smart opponent will use positioning to deny you that slam. remember counterslamming needs a clear center to center lane. You cant turn while slamming unlike countercharge. I'd run 1 gnarlhorn at 25
Feral : this guy is awesome. benefits from gnarlhorn animus, kromac spells and would probably be your best answer against infantry swarm. pretty thin skinned though and would probably be priority 1 target for your opponent
Gorax: Im not a fan of this guy at below 50 pts. yeah the 2 strength is neat and all but you'll frenzy next turn. nothing more annoying than a frenzying warpwolf taking out the nearest 1 wound model and not being able to use him at all the next turn. at low pointage/beast heavy this is a deal breaker for me.
Ill keep the gnarl, the feral and swap out the extra gnarl and gorax for something else. Maybe a stalker or pureblood.

Thanks for the tips fish. What do you think about this list then;
Kromac
-Feral warpwolf
-Gnarlhorn satyr
-Warpwolf stalker
-Druid wilder
I think that comes out to 25.
I switched the stalker in like you suggested, although I am not crazy about the model. Doing this would give me a beast with pathfinder, reach and the ability to stealth while giving me the ability to butcher infantry swarms. The stalker can also sprint with his animus after he slaughters whatever infantry are within 2in of him. Kromac can take care of the MAT6 with wild aggression. This solves a couple issues.
That left me with 2 points, and not a whole lot of models to pick from. I chose the wilder because she solves a few more issues. First off, she can help kromac handle fury by giving or removing as much fury from a beast each turn. She also extends kromac's control over his beasts by basically arc noding his fury management abilities. Finally, she can cast an animus for free, thus leaving more fury for kromac to say...cast rifts with, and the stalker can ignore the rough terrain that rift creates. Automatically Appended Next Post: One issue however, taking out the gnarlhorn means I have one less tough target for my opponent to focus on, since the stalker will likely be stealth most of the time. This means the gnarlhorn and feral (or kromac himself) are going to be focused on a little bit more.

Looks much better. I like to make sure I can shoot things as well, so I almost always field a Pureblood Warpwolf.
Whether you think you need some shooting is up to you. That 10" POW 14 Spray can often come in very useful as an opponent with a denial list will punish this list harshly.

@KingKodo
Any opponent that doesnt target the Stalker from the get go either hasnt seen what the model can do or are packing heavy infantry. look at it this way, If theyre focusing on one threat theyre ignoring another. And not a lot of lists can afford to handle all the threats you're putting on the table. at least not at 25 points.
Focus on the stalker? You'll be eating an assassin run from Kromac
Turtling? Hide behind infantry? Stalker will clear out infantry and mozey out of the way to let Kromac or another threat run down the lane to take out the caster.
Spreading out? You got 3 beasts capable of trampling through
kromac is all about putting the pressure on your opponent. Flank em. with Fury 7 on Kromac flanking shouldnt be a problem. Use warpath to position your beasts better. Use the threat of Bestial to keep their caster away from you. Bait em with the stalker or a feral on the flank. Actually you want them to commit their forces on ONE threat. If sacrificing the feral or stalker will let ya retaliate in a big way I say go for it. As long as your furry makes it through alive on the next turn, heal up or force him to regenerate and the beast is back in the game.
Btw: The Feral warpwolf can warp for +2 ARM if necessary which will match the gnarl's natural arm. add +2 arm with Inviolable Resolve and the Ferals natural def of 14...well you got a beast that can be as tough to crack as the gnarl, is harder to hit , can regenerate and is a lot more flexible on the board.
The Gnarlhorn on the other hand doesnt have an easy way to increase his def of 12 which is it's biggest weakness and cant regenerate
You will have trouble with Bastions, MOWs and Trollkin Champs though so watch out for those.

Yeah, before I got the circle book, I really thought the gnarlhorn was going to hit much harder than he does. I guess hes really just in the list for his animus...and because I couldnt fit the wilder if I took another wolf.
Also, If I really need to get through a screen, couldnt I just throw the warpwolf over/into a squad of infantry. Sure, it would take some damage, but I could just shake the KD, and it could possibly put him in prime assassination position.

You shake at the beginning of your turn. A knocked down Warpwolf is a dead Warpwolf.
