I've always wanted to run something of a campaign with my buddies. We have a pretty sizable group and we all play varied enough armies that it could prove rather interesting.

I have a basic story set up, though I'm a bit shy of sharing it with you all at the moment, and I was wondering in what ways I could set the campaign up to keep things moving, motivate players to want to continue, and generally allocate points, requisition, and so on so forth.

Any ideas?

The Relentless - 5000 pts.
Tomb World Khar'toba - 2500 pts.

I Dl'd off this site a "guidline" campaign put out by Dastardly Dave...it's got some tables and rules made up and tested. I'm looking at it for a campaign down the road when my group gets a better grasp on game mechanics. Check in the Articles section.

Grab the Planetary Empires set from GW, or borrow the rulebook from someone you know and use a hex map generator program to make a map that you guys will be fighting over. Planetary Empires makes it so regular games of 40k between participating players can count towards campaign results by seizing map sections.
