OK, I bought the Lelith Hesperax model as I think it's a brilliant bit of modeling and really wanted to paint it.
To cut a long story short, I got it about 60% painted, then knocked it off my table, and the arm holding the spear came off, ripping all the paint. I put it back together, repainted it, and managed to very slightly knock the arm again and it now has some 'give' under the paint, I think it's mostly come unstuck.
I'm probably going to admit failure, strip this back and redo it soon, and I wonder what other people have done to make sure the arm stays put? It seems far too thin a join to drill and pin successfully, and the superglue I used obviously isn't up to the task. It must be a nightmare if people play DE and have to transport this figure to games!

Any ideas? What have you used?

Thanks

When you reglue are you removing the glue already there first?

Arms might be a bit thin, but you may have to pin it. Or maybe look into something a little stronger like an epoxy.

I removed as much glue as I could when it originally broke, but i must admit I was more concerned with trying to match up the paint seams where it had ripped, so I probably missed some.

If you can manage to do it a bit of green stuff could be used to strengthen the joint, on certain models like nightbringer which is notorious for falling apart I used a bit of GS in between the joints and so far it has worked a treat.

I've painted Lelith but had no such problems I'm afraid. The super glue I used is 'Loctite Super Glue Precision Bottle'. I find it works really well on all my models.

As for pinning, I think its achievable, as long as you keep the drilled hole straight down her arm in the centre. Even if its just for 1 or 2 mm then it will provide a good support.

Hope this helps

I agree, even just a small stub of a pin will hold better. Good luck on the redue

I pinned mine.

Not difficult once you have the technique down.

0.6mm drill bit and a bit of paperclip with a small dab of epoxy.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Yep, did like Chrome dog, small drill, paper-clip and glue, holding well so far!
