So after an 8 year hiatus from GW I got back into the hobby in October last year, after I started reading the Horus Heresy books. I started a Word Bearers army which is slowly being converted to the diseased side.

Ok since I have accepted that my Word Bearers are slowly getting converted (literally) into followers of Papa Nurgle I decided to write a bit of fluff for them. I have never done this part before but here we go. I was going to call them 'The Harbingers of Contagion' from the Planet Necrosis and just before I typed this up I looked in the Background forum and found someone posting about the Apostles of Contagion from Necrosius. This creeped me out in a 'Truman Show' style way.

M40 Justinian System,

'Lorgar's Herald' the battleship of Marcion the Vindictive, landed on a bleak, desolate planet in the Justinian system. The celestial bodies inhabitants could not withstand the might of the corrupted Astartes and soon fell into submission, almost too easily. The masses became fanatical followers of Marcion's blasphemous speech and in his arrogance he was pleased. The Dark Apostle was quick to destroy any resistance to his law and corrupted temples and altars were built to further the glory of the Ruinous powers. One of these powers paid particular attention to the blasted globe.

Marcion was fed reports of a strange necrotic affliction which was wreaking havoc within his Legion's followers. His Coryphaus, Storax the Scourge brought it to Marcion's attention that many of their battle brothers were falling victim to a vile bubonic sickness that was overcoming their genetic enhancements and leading to a painful rotting demise. Marcion was worried when he noticed his fingers blacken and his skin started to fester. Marcion sort answers and fast!

Storax rounded up the local Chirugeons and physicians as his master demanded. The group of doctors huddled together hidden by cowls and hooded robes, 'They know something' Marcion thought to himself.

'I demand answers before I torch this blasted rock into oblivion!' raged Marcion,

Marcion was shocked to discover that the wretches were untouched by the putrid sickness as one of the hooded curs revealed his face.

'You have brought this blight upon yourself by angering the great father, oh mighty conqueror!'

'You dare to mock me worm! I shall crush you where you stand!'

As Marcion lunged for the man he felt his chest fill with fluid and he fell to his knees gasping for breath. The Doctor stood over the Chaos lord,

'Even the mightiest warmachines can succumb to the smallest deficiency.'

'What have you done to me?' choked Marcion,

'You came to our world and desecrated it with your shrines to you Dark Gods when there is only one true power.'

Marcion looked at the man with furious resentment as he could feel his skin fester and bubble he knew his time was running out,

'He can save you if you offer yourself to his putrification, offer yourself to Father Nurgle, The Lord of Decay! and be reborn Marcion the Blighted!'

And so Marcion the Blighted and his Coryphaus Storax the Afflicted led his Word bearers to reject the other Gods and embrace the rot of Grandfather Nurgle. The renamed 'Heralds of Contamination' took to the stars in the Plague Fleet Syndromius.

'The contamination must be spread!'

I finished off my Wyches with Kabuki style warpaint. I am pretty happy with how they turned out and I might get another box to add to them.













Up next Kabalites and I may repaint my Incubi and Mandrakes to fit the scheme. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys! Do you reckon I should keep the Mandrakes as they are or repaint them in a red scheme to fit with the rest of the Kabal, I can't decide yet.

I do love Word Bearers, the first heretic is kinda what got me back into the hobby, but messing around with greenstuff has lead half of my CSMs becoming nurglified like this:







These all started off as Word Bearers and then they have gradually turned to Papa Nurgle, same happened to about 20 plague marines.

Alongside my Wordbearers (who look like they are steadily turning into Deathguard) and The Kabal of the Laughing Oni another scourge of the galaxies has appeared in a big clunky fleet of doom, Da Redcoatz!!!

In fantasy related news after I finished off my plague furnace I just had to use the spare parts for the Screaming bell and with a few bits of Sprue this is what I came up with:



Its the same height and dimensions as the furnace so it works fine on the table top.
And this is the Furnace:




Not bad from one kit!

And here is my A-bomb, next I will do some more DE or maybe my Chaos Defiler.

Also as a random side project I am trying to turn a Wood Elf Spellcaster into Shiva from Final Fantasy 10 for my house mate's WE army.

The Incubi and Mandrakes look wicked. I also love anything Skaven. However something that bothers me...how does the Screaming Bell move about? It has no wheels? Is it stationary or is that fact ignored and it moves about as normal? Bet that Nurgle Defiler's gonna kick some behind once it gets some color. You are very good at what you do.

Thanks for the feedback Bunnygurl. I was going to try and get some spare wheels for the bell but so far I have been allowed to use it as normal in game as when it is surrounded by rats it looks ok. Glad you like the Defiler, hope to post some more pics when its got some paint on it.

Well I have been busy making some more Nurgly goodness. Up first is my Word Bearers which I am converting into Nurgle stuff as I find them more fun to model and paint.
My Rhino which has been greenstuffed and needs repainting.







My WIP Obliterators I made since I don't like the current ones so I kitbashed and greenstuffed some termies.

Wow. I can't get enough of these. Typhus is fantastic and those Obliterators you made kick GWs Obliterators into next week. Very nice.

I really don't like the GW Oblits and they are so expensive! so I am glad that someone else likes my converted ones. I will hopefully paint them up this weekend and get some more pics up.

So to keep with the fluff I made up I am just going to repaint him and maybe add a few more details to make him a bit more plague marine like. I also thought about maybe green stuffing a hood to cover his head but so you can still see his face.

I love the spike halo. A hood would look cool.

Yeah I think I will pick up some GS and add a hood to him and I might change the base as well.

I just had to get one Kaptain Badrukk when I saw him, he is such a cool sculpt and the little dude stood next to him is the old school version from about 20 years ago.

The rhino is my favourite for some reason.

Ha yeah I do spend quite alot on GW stuff but I also buy quite a few joblots on Ebay and then paint up and sell the bits I don't want so I can get more. It is pretty ridiculous the amount of things I have bought and sold in the last 5 months since I have got back into the hobby. I have loads of other things that never get posted on here.

So I finished off my Defiler and here he is:











In between my normal updates of Nurgleness and other bits and Pieces, I wanted to start a diorama with Blood Angels vs CSM.
I originally wanted an excuse to get some Sanguinary Guard when I came up with an idea of them scraping with some CSM Raptors in flight. Then I saw Tipios' amazing raptor conversions and now I can see it working.

So today I have bought some Sanguinary Guard, Possessed CSM, Genestealers (for the claws and then I cam GS the bodies into Plague Bearers, resourceful ) and a Basilica Administratum which I will use as a base for the diorama. The idea is to make up the basilica so it looks like ruins and then I want the fighting to be happening all around it, IE some perched on the top some on the base, others flying into battle etc. I may even extend the Diorama as I quite want to add some Death Company or maybe even a Furioso.

I thought it would look cool to have a San Guard with Power Fist punching a Raptor through one of the window slots but I have just seen that the marines are wider than the door frames good work GW. Anyway I am going to toy around with the building and maybe start some work this weekend so any comments/ ideas for poses would be greatly appreciated.

Also forgot I don't know what colour to do the Chaos who are fighting the Blood ANgels. I thought Night Lords for the aerial theme, what do you guys think?
