Subject: Raging Heroes - The Return of Asharah, news of Sci-Fi Asharah to come
Raging Heroes wrote:It's now been one year since we sent our first miniature Heroine Asharah to the 3D printer. You gave her a tremendous welcome, and her Limited Edition was sold out long ago. And yet, we keep receiving requests for her re-release. As it was Asharah's first birthday this past December, it seemed like the perfect time to bring out a new version of her.
Even more so, it was also time to at last step into the realm of science-fiction and offer you something for your futuristic games. And so, it's not one, but two Asharahs that we are about to release.
I can't see the youtube link at work, is this a new sculpt, just with the same name? I.e. the detail will be equivalent to their recent efforts, rather than their first?

Ah, I'll update the original post with some photos then. It's a similar sculpt, but various modeling things have been redone and it has been printed with the new technology.
Here is a small snippet of their news post describing the new model:
Raging Heroes wrote:In the end, her head position is changed to give her a more combative attitude. Her skirt and sleeves have been re-sculpted with a more elegant flow, the body has more swing and the leg position has been switched. All minor adjustments that make her look the same yet different. We've also designed a new mage staff and shield that, while being very much in the spirit of the first version, bring a new twist. Finally, we decided that Asharah would now be provided with 4 weapons instead of 6 for the former Limited Edition.
We also have made her a wee bit shorter than the Limited Edition so that she better fit a 28mm army, because her ultra-high heels make her stand taller than most of her cohorts.
This new version is benefiting from a year of tweaking and bettering our production process. So she comes with ultra crisp details thanks to our new 3D printing technology and the great work done at the fabulous Griffin Moulds Foundry

New sculpt, old name.
4 different heads, 3 different arms.
Looks awesome and at 13Euroes I think it's ace value.
Check out my gallery here Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Maybe good time to add the update on the manticore also:
Manticore / Lamassu – The first cast
posted February 08, 2011
Here it is! Below are pictures of the very first Manticore / Lamassu resin casts. Maybe it feels the same for you, but as for us, when we see the actual casts as opposed to the 3D renders, it always look a slightly bit more powerful and beautiful than the 3D renders.
The process for creating this piece has been quite a challenging task for our master caster, as he explored radically new ways of creating moulds and doing the casting. Inevitably, doing such experimental stuff pushed him over schedule, but we can assure you that the results are worth it. He showed us pictures of the process (which we are no allowed to divulge), although we can tell you that it opens up brilliant new possibilities for our future projects in the coming months…
But once again, we have to push out the delivery dates out for a few days. However, this time, our master caster is the one who will do the explaining, as we will get an interview out of him in which he will talk to you directly about his work. He tells us that he expects to have the production moulds ready by the end of the week, and the first 50 casts out in the middle of next week, barring any problems.
As usual, we will keep you updated via this blog. Meanwhile, we haven't been idle. Check out our next blog entry on the release of Asharah Anniversary Edition, in stock now!
Hokiecow wrote:How do these model scale to 40K? She would make a nice Archon.
She would certainly make a nice Archon stand-in. I think Raging Heroes agrees with you too; they are releasing a Sci-Fi version of her very soon which may compliment the 40k scene a bit more directly, similar to how the current Archon is a mix of dark medieval and futuristic elements.
As far as scaling, the original sculpts were just a smidge tall to line up with people's WHFB characters and they've shortened her just a bit to fit in better. In other words, she'll fit right in.

RiTides wrote:I'm not a fan of her painted up as a vampire so much, but with the book and the more vertical hair, she's awesome!
Certainly nothing against the paint job, it's much nicer in quality than what I could do, but I agree I much prefer the Dark Elf head. I think I'll upload a couple shots of that variety so people can get a better idea of her options...
With her arms stretched and staff/book in hands, hair flying upward from the winds of magic... I might try out source lighting of those objects glowing as she's casting a truly nefarious incantation.
