So, once again I'm in an escalation league which is escalating. Once again, I'm split about how to bump my forces up to the next points level.

For reference, my current 1250 list is...

CCS, master of ordnance, standard, lascannon

Marbo
plasma stormies
plasma stormies

PCS, missile launcher
21-dude power blob
21-dude power blbb

PCS, missile launcher
21-dude power blob
autocannon HWS
autocannon HWS
lascannon HWS

So, I few things I'm thinking of doing with this

A.)
- 21 dude power blob
- missile launcher HWS

Obviously this fits the theme, but I have to drop a lascannon from the CCS to make it happen. Straightforward, but I don't know how much more HWSs I really need. Plus, the ones I've been bringing over the past several games have done virtually nothing, so I'm a bit reluctant to add more in. Given that there are lots of transports, MCs and terminators in my future, though, this is probably a good way to go.

B.)
- 21 dude power blob
- upgrade marbo to plasma stormies
- upgrade autocannon HWS to lascannon HWS

This one sees me throw out some of my weaker power in favor for killier stuff. I like the 3x stormies thing, honestly, and won't be too sad to see some autocannons go.

C.)
21-dude power blob
Lord commissar with fist, carapace, camo.

I like the idea of throwing some Ld10 around for the HWSs, but this will honestly get used most frequently as a close combat puncher. 4 power blobs with a sneaky WS5 fist sounds pretty cool, or...

D.)
CCS with Straken
Missile launcher team.

This adds dead killiness to the list. The only problem is that it's running with only 3 power blobs now, and I'm already starting to feel a little horde-light with only 3 blobs at 1250.

E.)

lose Marbo, and replace with...

2 deathstrike missile launchers

Because escalation leagues are all about trying new stuff, right? Now, before you comment about how those would be my only two tanks on the field, remember that I'm going to get some terrain to help with this and any S6+ gunfire that's going against my deathstrikes are S6+ shots that AREN'T going against 3 HWSs and 3 CSs, all of which are vulnerable to exactly this kind of firepower lacking any better targets.

My only complaint is that deathstrikes aren't particularly good against terminators, MCs or transports. It would be loltastic, though.

F.)

21-dude power blob
Meltaguns everywhere in all the power blobs.

This is a return to more traditional listcraft for me. I've been a little edgy about the blobs not having anti-tank capabilities, and this will definitely help fend off MCs that will likely be striding by. Somehow it feels like the lowest killing power option, though...

Oh, and I just thought of another one...

lose both autocannon HWSs and Marbo and replace it with...

2 exterminators
Demolisher

This actually doesn't add any firepower over what I'm already bringing, but it IS bringing lots of AV14. My opponents have seen lots of footsloggers, and being able to stretch out both the extreme anti-horde and anti-tank might be more than a little challenging for my opponents to deal with.

D, F or G would be my personal choices. I would be attracted to straken at this points level, since you may run into a serious close combat army (orks, tyranids) against which it would really help.
