I was looking a bit a Menoth, because I think High Exemplar Kreoss looks like a bamf (that and most of Menth's jacks do too!).

But I've always liked to pick armies a lot of other people don't play and see how I can perform with them.

As a beginner do you guys think I should just pick up a wargroup? Is there an army better suited to someone just starting out?

Pick an army that has models you like. Buy the battle box. Expand from there. That's the best way to do it. Menoth is a fairly popular army and has a lot of support. Expect to turn your cool looking 'jacks into ridiculously powerful death machines. Even Menoth infantry is disgustingly good most of the time.

On a side note, if you do pick up Menoth, your second purchase needs to be the choir.

I would second this, battlebox, Leader and 3 priest choir and the Vassal of Menoth gives you a pretty decent 15 point list.

Also is BAMF a Robowar reference?

Alright thanks for the info. I'll look into prices and whatnot. But I'll probably be picking the battlegroup up. It just seems like a good place to start from.

I use BAMF as the acronym for Bad Ass Mother ****.

I agree with the above advice pick the army you like the models for the most. Who cares what other people play if you are happy with how your army looks on the table.

Fortunately every army is pretty competitive right now so you won't have to worry about always feeling like you have an up hill battle.

Also as other people have said the first investment you should make as a new PoM player should be a choir.

Menoth is all about synergy and buffing your jacks and infantry, most of the PoM units by themselves can seem a bit lack luster but once you get the right group buffs up the army can be a holy terror to fight against.

I would really suggest looking into a unit of Bastions they are a personal favorite of mine they can take an immense amount of punishment before you have to remove even a single model thanks to sanguinary bond(this allows you to spread the damage around the members of the squad any way you choose so long as you don't give more damage to a model than it can take). Bastion can also hit extremely hard seeing as they get 4d6+12damage per guy on a charge and 3d6+12 under normal conditions.

Okay, thank you all for the input. So the general consensus if that I should pick up a choir too?
Also wanted to run Feora and the Harbinger at some point any units in particular they work well with?
