Good batrep, although seemed like a pretty bad matchup. The Marine list was not very good at all. Poor useage of dreadnoughts (they need drop pods!) poor usage of scouts and storms, poor selection of HQs

+1. Although I see no need for Drop Pods in a Marine Army.

Edit : Besides Dreadnaughts and maybe Sternguard if those float your boat.

I enjoyed reading. It's an intreasting list, Lots of shooting.

Questions about the Ravaners, I usually run mine in a group of 5, with RC. Seems like the groups of 3, have worked out pretty well for you though, but I was wondering if you've had any serious issues with that.

Cassius was a strange choice for him, considering he had no real assault units for cassius to boost and I agree with the others that MM dreads seem pretty silly without pods.
Still it was a great report. Seeing a well painted army on a pretty nice table really makes the game

A great report you've got there! I really enjoyed reading it. The armies and terrain couldn't be much better, though there could have been a few more painted figs on the table.

This type of tyranid build keeps me interested in the somewhat disappointing codex, it even makes me want to do a similar army but there's so much to upgrade: hive guards, tervigons, tyrannofexes, raveners and of course spawned termagants. I love your army.

I spotted one mistake: you may not infiltrate your genestealers over 12" away from the enemy if ANY of the enemy's units can draw a LOS.

Yeah leif pointed that out after the game. Didn't end up mattering as I didn't do anything with them until turn 3.

Nice Batrep man, thanks.

I still love the paintjob and look of your army; you really should put a thread for them on the P+M showcase forum. I only just noticed how well based they are!

I must admit though, I didn't enjoy the batrep too much as the Marine player's all-corners list (which whilst not as bad as others think) wasn't well suited against 'nids and you know (and play) your army like the back of your hand! I never doubted your winning it tbh!

Nice batrep again though, I always make sure to check yours out.

Congrats on the engagement too!

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

Very nice report. You may want to tell Lief that he cannot combat squad his scouts in reserve and then bring them in on a pair of LSS (either by DS or outflank...sidenote I would always outflank them over DS..).

He needs 2 separate scout squads or he needs to start them on the table. This might matter since the tourney on Sat. is supposed to be an 'ard boyz style tournament and I would certainly call him on it if I got paired with him.

Nicely done.

I'm a little curious about your opponent's strategy this game. It looked like he spent the first half of the game deploying rather spread out and not doing anything, and the second half of the game timidly assaulting only AFTER you had both consolidated your forces AND spawned a bunch of gaunts. It looks like more aggressive play would have helped him out a great bit.

As you say, don't play C&C for the draw.
