Other Information: Based on the desert planet of mertreck where there are absolutely no mountains & the only way to get around & protect the planet is by vehicle travel is why the 903rd wardogs recruit only from this planet, they first appeared in service during the 38th millenium when the planet was rediscovered by imperial explorers, deemed too barren to be turned into a hivecity or anything productive the planet was left alone as long as it paid its tithe the first batch of guard recruited from the planet was placed in a leman russ tank divsion but they soon proved their worth in a tank battle on the planet Kern lead by tank commander Darkm Machuync they out maneuvered & destroyed an entire column of ork looted leman russ tanks & forced them to retreat the Imperium took the planet in just 5 months.

The Imperium rewarded Darkm Machuync with the privilege of commanding his own regiment which came to be known as one of the finest tank divisions in the imperium as the regiment grew in number & fame they participated in many battles such as the the rebellion on planet kor when a maddened commissar lead half of the planets population into open rebellion the commissar used his superior numbers in chimeras & tanks to try to overwhelm the local PDF, but didnt count on the wardogs arriving just in time & killing the commissar in a large tank battle, They stopped the waagh of grotslinger in the baal system, foiled an invasion attempt of eldar on the moon of the planet nuxd.

However the battle they are most famous for was the battle on the great planes on the Unni A heretical leader had forced the regiment to be on the defensive for 4 months surrounded & retreat cut off the regiment holed up in an ancient imperial fortress dating back to the horus heresy however the regiment decided it would go down fighting at dawn they left the reserve IG to defend the fortress on side & used the full force of tanks & armour to defend the other side for the heretical leader may of had greater numbers has less robust vehicles still the rebel force numbered in the tens of thousands with hundreds of chimeras & other poorly built vehicles
commander Darkm sent out his leman russes as the enemy was closing in using their superior range & firepower they destroyed hundreds of enemies before getting out range & then they rinsed & repeated the procedure as the enemy got closer the griffon motars opened fire from inside the fortress killing thousands of enemy infantry & dozens of vehicles in an unending barrage.

As the enemies closed in commander Darkm ordered all of his forces except for the reserves & mortars forwards to kill as many enemies as possible before they died, it became a bloody & terrifying close tank combat battle with the leman russes & chimeras resorting to running over & shooting many enemies as possible the battle raged on well into the afternoon with the heretics taking very heavy casualties due to the wardogs strategy & fury but there were also many casualties on the wardogs side as well by nightfall the battle was over the heretical leader was now a charred corpse & the heretics were dealt a crushing defeat at the hands of a small but much more professional soldier band, imperial rule was restored in less than 2 weeks after the battle.

The regiment continues to serve the imperium at many battle-sites & is continually gaining the respect of their fellow guard & nobles.

Good background story Just wondering what plane units you use for your speciality?

It's always nice seeing a player's army that has fluff behind it. Well, my Guard Regiment is more of a "meta" thing where they're aware that they're miniatures for a wargame, but still(now I totally want to do a battle report from this perspective).

i have no guard army i just made this off the top of my head as a bit of a story if you want you use this background for your army

Stopped a Waaagh in the Baal system? Is this the same Baal system that happens to have the Blood Angels in it? Because, if it is you may want to change "stopped" to "help stopped"... or simply change the system altogether.
