quick question, what is the best (iyo) or most effective war machine army (Field the most amount or have the best war machine value for points etc)

and I know dwarfs are one of the main contenders but also take into consideration the effectiveness of war machines combined with the army, surely a goblin with its crazy wacky war machine army could be deadly?

for example apparently I can make a goblin army 2k points with
1 goblin warboss
2 goblin shaman

3 x 15 spider riders with spears

50 goblins with full command and bows

2 rock lobbers
4 spear chukas
2 doom drivers
4 pump wagons

for around 1600-1700 points (Or so I recall)

could be wrong but 12 war machine even though they are goblin like would still be fun and since goblin war machines are wacky it would be fun

With their new book coming out, some of that may change.

Skaven can plop down quite a few war machines for fairly cheap. 380 points gets you 2 plague claw catapults and 2 warp lightning cannons. You can throw in a few Plague Mortars on your clan rats for fairly cheap as well; they're weapon teams sure, but they still are basically a walking stone thrower.

At 1500 I think I ran mine with 3 Rock Lobbas, 2 Doom Divers and 6 Spear Chukkas, then just fit in as many 20 man NG units with 2-3 fanatics as possible and have a blast.

Having just taken up dwarfs though the Grudge Thrower is a beast with some runes on it, so are our cannons. They don't move fast but they don't have too, those warmachines for your opponent to advance and if you think the core is lacking a 10 point GW Dwarf is dishing out WS4, S5 attacks and has a T4 of an Armor Save of 5+

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd
