Hi Guys,

I've just started playing Warmachine and so far am really enjoying it. I've had a couple of games against my mate who's playing Khador and so far have pulled it out of the bag both times and managed to tear Sorcha a new one, Yay!
I do have a couple of questions however regarding some of Denny's Spells:

Influence: If I cast this can I get the taret model to turn and attack or is it litterally just an attack on anything in it's current front arc?
Ghost Walk: Can I use this to charge through enemy units? It would be very handy to get a charge attack in on a unit hiding behind a warjack
Upkeep spells: Crippling Grasp? Can I upkeep this on multiple enemy units or just the one? i.e I've cast it on his two jacks costing 6 focus, next turn can I upkeep them both for 2 focus or can I only upkeep one of them [img]d have to fully cast it on the second again for 4 focus?

Influence just lets you attack with the model, not move or change facing.

No, Ghost Walk does what it says it does, no more, no less.

As soon as you cast an upkeep, all previous instances of that upkeep expire, so you can't upkeep both because its impossible for both to be in play.

Influence also only affects non character warrior models if I recall correct. Not usefull in battlebox games. Jacks are not warrior-models... other then that mastershake has it right I believe.

Ghost walk only let's you charge through terrain, but to declare a charge you have to see the target. So you can't charge through a jack. It does however help you ignore freestrikes when charging past a jack.

Influence is non-warcaster/warlock warrior models. It affects normal characters (vilmon, hakaar, etc) just fine.

Best, and only, time I've used Influence was great. I made a bunch of troll Fenn Blades with Reach attack his Pyre Troll. Not only did it do a fair amount of damage to the Pyre Troll, but the rules for said Pyre Troll is that anything which hits it in melee gets set on fire.

Best use of Influence I've had was to assassinate, when you combine it with a War Witch Siren's seduction:
- WWS uses seduction on an enemy model with reach (reach is mandatory here)
- Seduced model advances to enemy caster and attacks from max melee range
- Arc node moves to within 8" range
- pDenny activates, feats, and casts scourge at the enemy caster (preferably with puppet strings to reroll a missed attack). On a hit, you'll knock down the caster but not the model you had previously seduced.
- Cast influence on the model and auto-hit the knocked down caster 3 times.

Low arm casters get killed by that. Works great with someone like a great bear, bastion, and the like, though I've killed the Old witch that way with just a simple Iron Fang Pikeman.

And remember, the caster doesn't get the def bonus for being engaged since it becomes a friendly model to them after seduction wears off, so you're at their normal DEF-2 (from feat).

Had someone try to influence a Mage Hunter Assassin once, but the opponent failed to realize that she only had the 4" reach during her activation, so she had nothing to attack.

Well, eSevy's a little weird.

If you see an opening to spam Influence through an arc node, use it, but more likely
you're reserving focus for 'jacks and Awareness or a key Hex Blast/Fear of God
debuff, etc.
