I was looking through some of the FW dreadnoughts and with some of the new dreads that represent differant members of the chapter (Librarians, Chaplains etc.) and so am thinking of what dreads would look like for specific unit types from the differant codices. Anyone ever seen a dread for a SanGuard? or ideas on what one would look like?

Isn't there SanGuard head in the new Blood Angel Dread box? I can see a former SanGuard being in a Dread painted in San colors.

That's the Librarian head, but it is a Deathmask of some sort which the Sang Guard are well known for.

I'd imagine combining that head with a Ven Dread sarcophagus and weapons would be the best way to go, that or just carve out the head from the Librarian sarcophagus and glue it over the normal Furioso one, giving it the winged motif rather than the psyker one. Then some BA icongraphy and perhaps a large set of wings around the engines to invoke the feeling of the SG Jump Pack. And paint the entire thing a burnished gold with red accents.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Would you paint in metallic gold colours like how the Sanguinary Guard have?

With the Furioso kit including a winged armour front, this should be pretty easy, just needs a Sang Guard helmet, plus any other Sang Guard bits that look good.

It's logical that such a dread would be in Sang Guard colours. Hmm, and fluffwise it should always deploy via Stormraven - dangling underneath is as close as it will ever get again to jump-packing
