First off, I'm goning with red (mecherite red, leviathan purple wash, blood red highlight).

So, for a scenic base, I've got a nob who tragically lost his body via chainsword. He also got shot in the face a couple of times before that, and I want to show that they bled appropriatley until the end of the fight. Does anyone have any suggestions about the best pattern/method for painting that?

Also, the sword that did the chopping, I've never painted a blood smear like that before either. Suggestions for the best way to make that effect?

I personally use red ink, as it dries shiny and runs, like blood. It looks more like arteral blood, and paints dry dull and too convincing looking
