I started out playing Orks, but they didn't work out for me very well gameplay wise. I picked up the Space Wolves because of their abilities on the table, and also because the models just look fantastic. I'm having a problem with color mixtures. I can't match the official Space Wolves color, and now that I've mixed so many I'm not sure I even want to use that color anymore. Can I get some color opinions and maybe a few examples of what y'all have done?

Well, since you've joined today, first of all, welcome to Dakka!

On second instance, this question should go onto the Painting and modelling section but that won't stop me to say that Krilon's "neutral grey" primer works as a nice basecoat for Space Wolves, then add some black washes and I use Plantec's "neutral grey" as well.

You can see what I explained here, but doesn't looks exactly like Games Workshop's scheme, since they're not, of course, Citadel paints.

Welcome to Dakka!

As far as the SW grey goes, I suspect that the color not matching perfectly is because with shading and highlights the studio SWs look a bit different.
