I guess I will start it off with my own habits. I either listen to music (Two Steps from Hell usually), have a Youtube video playing in the backround related to wargaming, and if I'm feeling especially wierd, I will play a Bob Ross video while I work. Is this typical for anyone else? (At least the music part.)

Watch TV.

I should really learn how to focus 100% on painting and treat it like serious work so I can actually get times painted within a decent amount of time.

I spent an entire weekend on just 5 Fire dragons last week. What a waste!

Stick some Maiden on, and paint for several hours.

Then kick myself for being terrible at painting (well, for my Wolves. I suck at painting my 40k, but am reasonable at doing my LM...).

I watch a DVD I've already seen. Currently going through Firelfy. Which is an awesome series and the people who cancelled it should be hounded through the streets, chased by crazed Browncoat fanboys.

Sometimes I'll also listen to a Audio Book.

In general I just toss a few CDs on or throw a Dvd in just for background noise...it helps me to focus.

Either focus on painting/modelling or lurking dakka.....
to swap P&M to jump into threads so less P&M gets done.

Did listen to any BL-audiobook ( of those 3 I got ) alongside painting models.

I just put on my mp3 player. The type of music varies depending on how I feel. Recently it's been either 3 Doors Down, Snow Patrol, Nightwish or Chopin. Nice eclectic mix there!

Looking for fun articles on painting, tactics and wargaming? Are you after a new regular blog to follow? Are you a bit bored with nothing better to do?

If the answer to any of the above is 'well, I guess' you could probably do worse than read my blog! Regular wargaming posts, painting and discussions

I used to have the TV running in the background. But the Mrs. made me move my painting from the dining room table to a proper painting table in our office. Now it is just silent and I don't like to be alone with my thoughts.....

I am planing on buying some speakers for my Ipod next week though, so then I will listen to music when painting.

Yeah, I personally find it extreamly difficult to focus on painting when it's too quiet,I have to have some sort of noise in the background to be able to concentrate.

I'll usually have music playing, or perhaps a movie going in the background... something to make it so it isn't dead quiet!

Well, for the last few weeks, I had been watching the Kids in the Hall. However, in the time that it took me to convert all of my marines, I ended up watching all 101 episodes of the show.

So now I need a new fix. I'll probably just put some Bowie on in the background and work with that.

Me and a buddy get together with intentions of painting and modeling. Currently we're working on our own wargaming table so we've had a lot of time to devote to getting things painted.

As for habits we usually turn on the TV, kick back, chat and paint. It goes by quick, things get done, and we can give each other feedback on how models are looking and you get a second opinion if you don't think something looks right.

I've always wanted to have a buddy over, but none of them are into the hobby, and I'd do it at the FLGS but there is just so much stuff to move...

One of three ways:

1) I put a box set or a squad in a 4ltr box tray and sit in front of the Tele cleaning and gluing.

2) Just sitting at in my home office with the computer on listening to itunes/CD/looking at Dakka while i paint.

3) or just sitting at in my home office with the computer on listening to itunes/CD/looking at Dakka while i paint before I get distracted and start replaying DoW.

3 is more likely than 1 or 2.

Hm, I do many things while painting. Not necessarily at once, but well...

Music
Audiobooks
Movies or series I´ve allready seen
Stuff on Youtube (Videogame or Tabletop videos)

Basicly whatever I feel like.

For my last batch I combined 1, 3 and 4.
To be more specific, I watched A Very Potter Musical + Sequel on Youtube
