On a hate rampage.

I don't know about you guys, but I used to be organized with my minis. Had them in order. In a case. But time goes by, and minis become more common. The majority of my room is tidy, except for my placeless warhammer models just lying about, waiting to be painted or played.
From here, I can look round my room and see..
2 Trygons and a Fex on my PC desk
Various Lizardmen scattered around my painting desk
Some Ultramarines on a chair
Space wolves piled on a shelf, with Sergeant Telion beside the pile
A dreadnought on my pillow (WTF)
A Lictor on top of 3 Killa Kanz by a TV

What about you guys?

I have a few dedicated display cases, to show off my rare and best painted models. Unpainted models are still in thier packaging. The rest are in thier army transport bags, kept in acool dry place.

They are to exspensive, to have em banging around. Just my opinion.

My painted stuff is generally all safely tucked away in cases all around my room. My painting desk is a nightmare and has models from three different armies on it, in varying states of assembly and painting. Heaps of bits sit between paint pots and my desk is a real mess. I'm pretty decent at storing most of my stuff out of sight though, so my room doesn't look like the stockroom of a gamestore.

I have a display case that holds most of my stuff. A lot of unpainted stuff is on the book case at the moment though, and my flock/PVA and such sits on top of a (non-working!) radiator. And there's some stuff next to the sofa since I paint there. And cases everywhere.

I need a bigger flat...

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

Seeing as I live in a 13'X12' dorm room, I can't afford to leave my minis out. I have my army case that contains most of my guys that hides in my closet. I have a small plastic bin that holds my WIP guys, which usually resides on my desk, dresser top, bed, where ever I have room.

I also have a tool box which holds everything 40K related which isn't models. Paint, brushes, xacto knives, glue, other assorted sundries. Between my tool box and small plastic WIP box, they take up my entire desk, so I can't leave them out.

Everything else is cased.

Back in the UK and hating it

Other than my Dark Eldar which is out on a shelf, everything is boxed up, but a couple of weeks ago the unpaitned stuff was evferywhere. I spent the other night spraying 37 sprues (and then another 5 later) before sniping all the items off and putting them in zip-lock bags and boxing them up in case I need to ship them back to the UK shortly. It's pretty tidy now!

This is the real question here. Are you OCD or not?

As for me, I'm slightly OCD. So my mins are in cases and my paint desk is always clean.

To my immediate right, a Necron Lord of the Shroudweaver Warcell is working with some of my normal Necrons to battle against some various parts of a Chaos Dreadnaught and a lone Chaos Termie. To the left, a Monolith has just dropped off a Lord in front of 4 Nurgle Bikers, a Chaos Vindi, and Nurgle Rhino. Tau Gun Drones and Kroot are flanking from the rear.

I live in a small dorm room where I have weekly inspections. Any models that are out are organized neatly by game and race along some shelving at the back of the desk. Everything else goes into boxes and cases as need be. Very neat and tidy only because I have to, otherwise it would be a disaster of random stuff everywhere.

I like to display my models all over my shelves and dresser at home, but the look of horror on my opponents face as I dump my models from unprotected cardboard boxes on to the table when I play tells me I might be on the messy side with transport. Of course when you gotta get a ork army into a backpack, foam and organization needs to go out the window.

Yeah. I'm really messy too. I usually save shipping boxes and just throw all kinds of junk in them. Looking inside a random box on the floor, I've found..

fifteen or so random guants, some LOTR crap, a bag of eldar bits, 25 or so 2nd edition plague marines I have no will to paint, OOP obliterators.... oh, and a bag of bases. I have like four of these things too

Sort of the same here too My one bookshelf is literally covered in land raiders and junk. I usually just throw everything into empty battleforce boxes when I have to go somewhere.
