Hello all, new guy here. Was kind of into 40k about 2 years ago, but got out, and now I think I'm back in. Little bit of history: About 2 years ago, I was interested in the 40k models just for modeling purposes (I was a big scale model builder), and bought a couple CSM models. Well, after a while of messing with them, I bought the codex to see what else was available and to learn about the fluff. I had no intentions of gaming at the time. Well, around my birthday, I went back home for vacation and found a GW store. I kinda went nuts and bought almost an army's worth of models, with no direction in mind for an actual army. I just bought what I thought was cool. After that, I decided to play, but even though I had a bunch of CSM figures, I had nothing to build a solid army out of (it was mainly incomplete squads like only 2 bikers, and singles of a lot of others). On top of that, I was overwhelmed with unbuilt models. So it kinda ruined the fun for me, and I sold mostly everything and made about half my money back. I stopped with 40k about a year ago, without even completing a single model.
Well, now I'm stationed in Missouri, and found a small shop that sells 40k models. I was bored one day and wanted something to do, so I picked up an SM Dreadnought to fiddle with. After looking up color schemes and going through the codex, I think I've got the bug again. Although this time, I can be smart about it and plan out a sensible army without going all willy-nilly. Think I'll go with Space Marines this time around, and I remember really liking the Grey Knight models that were out a while ago, so I might run with the Daemonhunters chapter. Who knows. But, it's nice to find a forum like this, and from what I've seen so far it seems like a wealth of knowledge I can definitely benefit from, and hope to contribute to once I'm on my feet, so to speak.
Wow, that was really long winded. Anyway, here's my post introducing myself and saying "Hello, everyone!"
