Here is my IG mechvet-ish list. Please comment and give me ideas on how I can make it better. Thanks in advance!

5 vet squads
3 w/PP, 3 meltas, Demolitions-420
2 w/BP, vox, 3 Snipers, LC, Forward Sentries-280

Transport-
1 Chimera w/HS, DB

Fast Attack-560
2 Vendettas w/HBs-280
2 Devil Dogs w/MM, SL-280 (this unit will change between the three hellhound variants depending on what army I am playing against. The 10 extra points will come from both of the HBs being taken off the Vendettas)

Heavy Support
2 Executioners w/PC, LC-470

I don't see why you would use an astropath or a moO. use an OotF instead, or an OotF and an astropath and get a chimera for the CCS. I also don't see how it's a mechvet-ish list when you only have 1 chimera. Either focus on mech or all-out infantry. If you only own 1 chimera put your CCS in with it with 4 plasma guns

Drop the vox and snipers, add chimeras for the vets. There is no reason for a vox system because you only have 1 squad that will benefeit from orders Forward sentries is kinda a waste for 30 pts.

The list seems balanced but the efficiency of it is a little odd.

Yeah, i really don't know why I called it mechvet-ish; probably because i was thinking of my larger list with 3 additional chimeras, and there are 2 sitting squads, w/forward sentries, and 3 with meltas and demolitions

With Guard, either everybody needs a ride (using vets in chimeras or valks/vendettas) or everybody walks in power blobs.

I also have a thing about people putting heavy bolters on vendettas. It just doesn't make sense to me. Also, your executioners are super expensive, but could be effective. I used to run sponsons on my russes, but have given them up and never looked back.

The reason I put HBs on my Vendettas is that I've played a couple games where there was no armor on the table at the time, and I've regretted just being able to shoot 6 LC shots at infantry, killing 6 guys, at most. As for the Vets, i've found it effective to run my melta squads w/o chimeras, and just have them running up and assaulting the tanks that were trying to dominate my deployment zone. Under other circumstances, more specifically, the one with me being able to buy 3 more chimeras, I would give them all a ride, but until them, they're gunna have to walk

As a seperate question, would it be helpful to change the HW in the sitting squads?
