Does anyone know or have theories as to what the mysterious shadow-creatures that aided the Crimson Fists at Traitor's Gorge were? (If it in fact says in the Codex, forgive me, my eyes aren't great).

I assumed Eldar or Dark Eldar, but I wasn't sure.

A possibility, but I've never heard of them being invisible or flying, either.

Eldar Rangers, it says that they used longrifles and Rangers use longrifles and one would imagine that the figure that approached them was a farseer or some such.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

I remember that GW created this apocalypse formation: http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m1521011a_New!_Space_Marines_Datasheet_-_Battle_Traitors_Gorge.pdf

From there, it is pretty clear that eldars were present at the traitor's gorge event.

"How many more worlds do we sacrifice? How many more millions or billions do we betray before we turn and fight?" - attributed to Captain Leoten Semper of Battlefleet Gothic - Gothic War, the evacuation of Belatis.

If commanding a Titan is a measure of true power, then commanding a warship is like having one foot on the Golden Throne - Navy saying.
