Apologies for resurrecting this, but I just realized the previous version was 100 points short! Curse you dakka, for not checking my math.

So, how would you spend an additional 100 points on the following list?

I consider the Stormravens and having 3 Dreadnoughts to be core elements of the list. Everything else is on the table. I'm taking the DC mainly so I can take 3 dreds and still take Sanguianry Priests.

I currently have 1 idea: Give the second squad of Assault Marines a PF, and upgrade the Multimeltas on each Stormraven to a Typhoon Launcher. I guess another idea would be to drop the DC and use a libby HQ and take an Honor Guard to get a Novitiate.

My biggest concern with running that list is the lack of armor on the board when your starting. On turn 1, you have 3 AV 12 vehicles in 1850 points.

I know at that point value there will be many anti-transport weapons trained on your 3 targets. My biggest worry would be the stormravens not making it very far.

Well, I think the plan would be to start in reserves if I don't have the first turn against lists that have a lot of long range anti-armor. Everything either has a JP or will be in a Stormraven. Of course, this probably isn't ideal since the SRs don't benefit from DoA.

Reserves isn't that bad though. Because you can move flat out and get a nice cover save when you move onto the board

Right now, you're looking at 25 marines and a dread for your scoring? That's a tad on the thin side... I'd concur with the suggestion to get more OBJ-grabbing power.

You're really going to have trouble with keeping three stormravens aloft. At AV12, even moving flat out, I mean, most armies count on having to kill 6-7 transports. I mean, haven't we all adapted to vendetta and chimeltavet spam? The dreads will go down the turn after...I dunno, this list has "glass hammer" stamped all over it. Too many points spent on quality, not enough spent on quantity...and that's coming from a deathwing player who thinks 17 terminators is plenty at 1850! At least to get at my termies, you have to peel them out of their scoring land raiders, then torrent your way past a 2+/3++... power armor at a model count of 27 infantry? It's suicide! I wouldn't play power armored marines under 45 strong at 1850.

Wait, I can't combat squad the Assault Marines if they start in reserve, right? That ruins the reserves plan. I guess I could take the packs off, but that seems like a waste. It looks like I need to run 5 man Assault Squads. How about this:

Now I can put 2 of the Assault Squads in SRs and deep strike with the other two if I want.

Remember the Stormraven can turbo boost and still fire one weapon with power of the machine spirit. That means a 3+ save and a dead tank per 'Raven. Even if they go down in a fiery crash your opponent has to deal with whats inside them. A squad and a 'Dread!

that's still an awful lot of your points tied up in 2xAV12 vehicles,if it goes wrong it'll go really wrong,i wouldn't put anything in them & use them as pure tank hunters & use DoA to bring your troops on & podnought the dreads.

Drop a raven put the death company & dreads in pods,bring the furioso's down turn 1 pop smoke or an APC if close,use the 2 ravens as tank killers & charge whatever came out of the APC's next turn,taking objectives as the rest arrives.

Don't you mean they get a 4+ obscurement save from going flat out? Turbo-boosts are for bikes, right?

The SMF save is 4+, bikes get a 3+ for turbo-boosting.

Oh crap. Yes I meant the 4+ save. Still great that it can fire a Multi-Melta whilst doing that.
