Well I finally made the choice to join the dark side. I recently purchased a dark eldar codex a box of warriors and one raider. So i wanted to make up a 1500 list and wanted to know what experienced dark eldar players think so please C&C is welcomed.

HQ
Archon w/ huskblade ghostplate armour soul-trap and phantasm grenade launcher 140

Elites
4 incubi 88
venom w/ splinter cannon 65

Troops
10 Warriors w/ 1 upgraded to Sybarite and 1 with a blaster 115
Raider w Night shield, Flickerfield 80
10 Warriors w/ 1 upgraded to Sybarite and 1 with a blaster 115
Raider w Night shield, Flickerfield 80
10 Wyches w/ 1 upgraded to Hatatrix with agoniser 120
Raider w distengrator cannon Night shield, Flickerfield 80
10 Wyches w/ 1 upgraded to Hatatrix with agoniser 120
Raider w distengrator cannon Night shield, Flickerfield 80

Heavy support
Ravager w/ Night shields, Flickerfield 125
Ravager w/ Night shields, Flickerfield 125
Ravager w/ Night shields, Flickerfield 125

If I did the point cost right this comes out to 1458, I have no idea what to spend the rest of the points on. Also i know there are a lot of mix feelings about giving vehicals night shields and flickerfields but i still added them to see what people would say about them. So any advice is well appreciated.

Solid list. Pretty cookie-cutter, nothing wrong with that, but maybe you could spice it up a little and make it more fun to play.

What if you did...

Archon - 140
Incubi w/ venom - 153
2x 10 Wyches in raider - 400
2x 5 Warriors in venoms (syabite, blaster, extra SC for venom) - 270
3x Ravagers - 375

Thats 1338 so you have 162 points.

You could get another squad of 4 incubi and drop the archon for 2 haemonculi to go with the incubi.
You could just get a squad of 6 reavers with 2 heat lances, which would make you're tank killing great.
Or you could fiddle around and get another squad of 10 wyches in a raider.
You could get a 3rd venom of warriors and then upgrade ravager to a razorwing or voidraven
Or just any ~160pt unit that appeals to you in the codex

I guess you're army is sort of based around what kits are available now, but just wait until the second release (not the beasts that just went up), and there will be a lot of fun stuff for you to spice up your army with

Mostly they are just a waste with everyone using 48" range weapons or 36" range weapons which can move 6-12" and fire. They can be a better choice than Flickerfields on Ravagers as you should have a line of Raiders in front of you to get cover anyway. The only place I would say they are definitely worth it are on the fliers, they have the only 48" range weaponry in the codex and taking Nightshields means they can volley off all their missiles first turn (or whenever they arrive) from max range and then 90% of the time still get at least 1 round of anti tank/anti infantry fire off from their main guns (12" move + 36" range weapons should give you range on something).

my suggestions(and these are of course from what has worked in my local metagame) is to drop the sybarites from the warriors and upgrade that blaster to a dark lance. most of any Raiders that you will be using will be delivering your CC troops into combat, so night shields are useless on the wych Raiders at least, and they are only going to be so-so on the warrior raiders.

I would honestly suggest that you drop the Raiders for at least 2 of the warrior squads, simply because they are too easy of a kill point for most armies and they won't really protect your warriors anymore than good cover will.

I would bring a third 10 man warrior squad with either dark lance or Splinter cannon for the points difference and also think about dropping a wych from each squad. With the further points difference you should be able to afford at least one Haemonculus, if not two(don't have the codex in front of me right now) to put with the wyches to give them FnP from the start.

Just my 2 cents.

And on a totally different topic:
