Subject: Feel No Pain vs Witchblade

Ork Admiral Kroozin Da Kosmos on Da Hulk
|
A model equipped with a witchblade hits a model with feel no pain USR and wounds it, armor save fails.
What now?
a) Model may roll for feel no pain, witchblade can not be activated if wound is ignored(or may be activated but has no effect)
b) Witchblade may be activated and, if successful, feel no pain may not be used due to instant death
|
7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

Model may make FNP roll.
Witchblade does not deny Armour saves and is not an instant death (strength >=2xT) weapon.

I guess I found my answer myself... witchblades(and Eldrath's staff) are not force weapons, right?

Witchblades are NOT Force Weapons. While they are psychically powered (hence always wounding on a fixed value) they do NOT cause Instant Death.
All force weapons are also Power Weapons, meaning no FNP.

Just to clarify a bit:
- Witchblades and Singing spears do not deny armor saves nor do they deny FNP.
- Eldrads staff DOES deny armor saves, therefor no FNP may be taken.

Witchblades haven't been FW since maybe 2nd edition (I know they were in 1st - psi points could be used to boost the S and ASM of the weapon at double normal rate ) but I didn't play a lot with my Eldar in 2nd.

IIRC in 3rd they were also described as "a type of Force Weapon", although they used different rules.
