I wondering what the cost of the painboy is as simple as it sounds the entry is worded oddly.

"One nob may be a pain boy +30 points" does this mean the dok is 30 points or 20(nob) plus 30 making him 50 points?
i have always played him as 50 points but i am thinking that is wrong.

If you look at the koomando entry it says " one maybe be led by snikrot for..." as opposed to the nob entry which says "one kommando may be UPGRADED to nob for ....." so if you take snikrot you are not upgradeing a kommando so you dont have to pay the price of one to upgrade , where as the nob you do.

so what is dakka's thoughts, have i miss read something?

I think its 50 points, but im not 100% sure, only 99%

"One nob may be a pain boy-----+30pts" You already have paid for the nob (20pts) now making him a pain boy costs 30pts for 50 total. 10 nobs = 200 pts (base) make one a pain boy 230 pts now. Still 10 models, just 30 extra points.

Snikrots entry says "Instead of a nob, one mob may be led by: Snirot 85 pts" So instead of paying to upgrade to a nob nob, you can pay 85 for Snikrot.

so is snikrot +85p? or just 85p?

It costs 85 points to have Snikrot lead a mob of Kommandos.

Cannot run just Snikrot. Minimum # of Kommandos is 5. You need the minimum to choose Snikrot.

Snikrot is an addition to the squad, at a fixed cost. He's not an upgrade to a model, so you aren't paying for a model then adding Snikrot's cost as an upgrade.

A painboy is an upgrade to a Nob, so you have to buy the Nob first.

who said anything about running less than 5 kommandos for snikrot?

I have misinterpreted your post. I apologize, I was thinking your were taking him by himself and attaching him to another squad.

It is 15 with Snikrot. The number of Kommandos you can have is 15. 14 kommandos is 140 pts (base), plus 1 Snikrot makes 225. You do not need to pay for the 15th kommando and snikrot as he is not a model upgrade but a unit upgrade. Unit size stays at 15 regardless. That is where I misinterpreted the number. If you were to take 15 kommandos and decide to upgrade to a nob it would be 150 for the base cost, then 10 to upgrade 1 to a nob for a total of 160 pts for 15 models.

Now I hope I did not mud this up with more odd wording, GW has enough of it for both of us.

I'm pretty sure you can have 15 kommandos and snikrot for a total of 16 models in the squad.

Snikrot is a kommado himself, it is 15 with him. 100% sure of this. Same for stormboyz and Zagstruck, 20 stormboyz including Zag.

pg 99 ork codex where it lists 5-15 kommandos, snikrot is listed with the kommandos, he is a unit upgrade.

Hope that clears it up for ya, if you need further confirmation i am sure someone will chime in besides me if you ask.

Snikrot has no rules nor indication in any of his entries that state he is a bonus member of the unit. The Unit's maximum size is 15 and that means you may only have 15 including snikrot.

If you wanted to see an example of a unit that adds bonus members(as opposed to upgrading or Leading members) have a look at the IG CCS regimental advisors.
