Simply put, is it likely that someone will buy the rights to AT-43? It had such potential, I really cannot see it just being left alone. Has anybody heard anything to suggest that maybe Fantasy Flight might take over the AT-43 license? Or is the game totally dead, with no chance of it ever being bought up by another company?

I agree with you re: AT-43's potential. It is, IMO, a better rule-set than 40k, and I even like the prepainted models. But, Rackham proved to be even *more* inept than Games Workshop, which is a fact I found *staggering*.
I thought I heard rumblings, though, that Fantasy Flight was part of the reason that AT-43 had so many problems. Don't know enough about it, though.
But, I would love to see another company pick up the IP, re-release it, and overthrow 40k.

"I went into a hobby-shop to play m'self a game,
The 'ouse Guru 'e up an' sez "The Guard is weak and lame!"
The Chaos gits around the shelves they laughed and snickered in my face,
I outs into the street again an' grabbed my figure-case."
Oh it's "Angels this" an' "Space-wolves that", and "Guardsmen, go away!";
But it's "Thank you for the ordnance" when the Guard begins to play,
O it's "LOOK AT ALL THE ORDNANCE!" when the Guard begins to play.."

Oh, I doubt it would overthrow 40k, it has a very different feel, less grimdark, more realistic. Still, if AT-43 was picked up by a competent company, it would really take off. As it is, the Red Blok mechs work great for Weird WWII games!

Maybe Paolo might want some of his stuff back (AT-43 did start out as an Alternate Timeline 1943 WW2 game, hence the AT-43) but if dust really takes off - and the comics have been popular for years, then he might be able to.
I'm seeing just more orphaned game content though.

The legal issues have not been clarified. That is the main problem and no one knows who controls what. For the IP in Confrontation, Cyanide bought it.

I have never heard of Cyanide. Do you have a link?

That is the computer company that makes Blood Bowl. Some time ago, it signed a contract with Rackham-E for Confrontation to make a computer game. I guess it has put in some effort into it and therefore it bought the IP.
