I take 3 since you can rely on hitting at least once most of the time and because they can be suprisingly hard to get rid of completely.

I guess I should of limited the question a bit. With an unlimited point level restriction yes 3 are better than 2 but say in a 1500 point game where your shaving points would you take 2 squads of 3 or 3 squads of 2?

I see some netlist taking 3 squads of 2, I understand the mathhammer on the shooting part (3>2) but your limiting yourself to two targets to shoot at. Also no one has talked about the blocking ability of squadron of vehicles. I can see two still using this tactic.

3 squads of 2.
That way, you can fire at 3 different targets.
of course, if you can, 3x3 buggies never hurt anyo..I mean us ork players

If you're shaving, I could see you reducing the squads depending on the rest if your list. Still, that's hard to tell without seeing the resr tof your list. I only use one 3-strong squadron because my two other FA choices are koptas, so I gofor the full thre rokkits + major LOS/movement blocking ability 3 buggues give you.

i run 2, mainly because i only have 4...

Usually i run them as annoyance units to distract the enemy and work along the flank behind the tanks if i can.

Honestly I've never seen the use of them. Deffkoptas can achieve better results in my experience. I'm not sure about the rest of you since everyone's gaming experience is different (and my Orks are a VERY minor army of mine) but I feel that even just looking through the codex that Koptas are better.

Koptas are far better, most of the time.

Remember though, that no so long ago (before AOBR) you never saw koptas on the field, because the models cost the earth and sucked bad ;O)

Buggies were the affordable option, back then

I dont want this to become a debate about Deffkoptas vs. Rokkit Buggies. They both have advantages and disadvantages for each.

In the Webway.

I'd say squads of two. It strikes a good balance between possible damage and the amount of targets you can hit.
