I can't say anything that has not already been sead before. when you play tyranids you need to unleash the wrath of a tousand jaws on your oponent before he blows you to smitherines. The snacks defend themselves with the wrath of a tousand boomsticks, and if you don't saturate your hunger you will be blown to pieces.

I understand venethropes, zoanthropes, hive guards and gargoyles. These are usefulol units. But I am baffeled by the MC's. I have no idea when I should use the diferent once.

Moast lists over 1500 usualy includes 1 or two tervigons because they gives you mutch needed synapse and they help you get enough bodies on the table. They also throw around feel no pain. But when should I include trygons, tyranofexes, harpies. Mawlacks seems very situational at best. And is not the big hive tyrant a huge point sink. With wings he would be the first one to die, and he actualy hits less hard then a trygon who costs less.

Dear dakka dakka please help me out. I am confused to say the least.

It depends on what type of build you are going for exactly. Mine is bubble-happy and uses numbers to simply cover the board, forcing the opponent into my lines whether he wants to or not. As such, I include Venomthropes, Tervigons (Countattack, FC, and Poison on Termagaunt groups nearby), Hive Tyrant with Guards (to give Preferred Enemy to everyone close), and a Trygon (as well as Hive Guard and Warriors).

This gives me a cohesive force that, at its center, has a 5+ (or better) cover save, Preferred Enemy, Counter Attack, Poison, and can deal out some damage/a lot of pinning as they move forward. There isn't really any great option for what to fire at, as usually one Terivgon and the Trygon has FNP (and I alternate between Tervigons if they shoot at the other one) and the Tyrant is very difficult to kill with this Guard. The Venomthropes are a good target but are usually hard to see and will have a 4+ cover anyway. I have some S5/6 shooting sprinkled in to help the Hive Guard slow down vehicles. The idea isn't really to destroy anything, it's to move forward show the opponent who's in control.

Stay away from the Hive Tyrant with wings. Unless your going with a lot of Spores, there's no benefit in giving him extra mobility/less survivability. He's a force multiplier. Paroxysm those TH/SS and then send your 10-man Termagaunt unit into them and laugh.

I went to a few tourneys with what amounts to a nidzilla list.

This is prior to Dark Eldar et al, so take it with some salt.

I had 22models @ 1850 including 10 gants that are placed--a single tervigon was included. Nearly 40 t6 wounds made it viable--with DeathLeaper to help hold objectives(it cheats).

I had no venomthrope, interestingly enough, but found the army to be useful but not as good as one with actual fodder.

Especially with deldar about, I would suggest gargoyles and hormagaunts again. Let's not even get into GK and the toughness lowering assininity that breaks the beast that was denied both EW and T7.
