Hello,
I'm kinda new to 40k in terms of gaming but i've been into the modeling aspect of it for years. I noticed that on forgeworld there is a Ultramarine Chaplain Dreadnought and i'm considering getting it, however I know absolutely nothing about it and Imperial Armour vol. 2 seems to have no specific information on it. My main question is is it considered bot an elite and a hq due to the fact that its a venerable dreadnought as well as a chaplain? And is there anywhere i can find all of the stats of this specific dreadnought?

Also I know my weapons but I haven't the slightest clue what i'd want on the dreadnought; i'm definitely going with a dreadnought close combat arm on the left side but i don't know if i wana get an inferno cannon, a twin linked lazcannon, a twin linked autocannon, or whatever. Im pretty anti infantry right now so i guess im looking into something that covers a little bit of everyting.

heres the link!

Thank You!

It's not a legitimate option via the 'standard' rules. If it's not in the SM codex its not a legal choice generally.

Forge World products, if it doesnt look like an alternative model for an existing GW one, tends to have their own rules in an Imperial Armour book, which will include the background, rules, stats and pointcosts of these units. However, most dont consider FW to be "official" GW rules, and many tournaments ban the use of Forge World rules (but not the models, assuming there's a good Codex-proxy for them. for example, you can use the Chaplain Dread as a normal Venerable Dreadnought).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Thank you for responding!

So the chaplain dread is pretty much just a cool looking venerable dread?

In one of the Imperial Armour books there are rules for the Chaplain Dread. I forgot the exact details, but it functioned somewhat as you'd expect: a Chaplain in a ven dread.
