Now I'd like to keep the discussion centered on Diablo 1 and 2. We know a good bit about Diablo 3, but i'd hate to see this turn into. "Blizzard! you ed up Diablo, It are diffferunt now! not l33t! Change it back n00bs!!!111!!1" If we can keep it civil (which I forget I'm speaking with Dakka, We're always civil.) then fine discuss Diablo 3 as well. /
With that out of the way. Anyone else feel as if They created Act 3 In Diablo 2 to intentionally feth with people? It drives me nuts.
Good with Act 3:
- The Mercenary you hire love that guy.
- Kicking Mephestio's arse
Bad:
-Puzzle like town. I find Myself at dead ends to often.
-The little Fething Knee Stabbers! And their Shaman bs too! Those guys will smoke you very very fast if your not paying attention!
(This list could continue but I'll cut it short)
So how does Dakka feel about this classic series?

I love it. I loved playing multiplayer Diablo 1 with my brothers, and I bought Diablo 2 to play online. Sadly, when I joined the community there were already few people to play it. I would play more often if I had company.
Though I have played it for hours and hours I have yet to try a class that wasn't a barbarian or a sorceress. In fact, I only left the Barb, because in Act 4 the Death Knights had Iron Maiden or something that killed me outright when I used anything but Berserk.
But Act three is waaaay too big, and I also hate the little buggers.

J/K, though I find a lot of weapons for her, they always look like crap.
The single most interesting encounter I had was when my character was about 42 (Sorceress), and got her arse whooped by a lvl 17 Paladin.
Then I found out he was portuguese too, and we started chatting ingame. He showed me his equipment - can't remember the build right know, but he rune'd a set item sword and got it so stupidly powerful he was extra fast and extra hard hitting. Seemed legit and well thought off.
The guy even gave me a cool dagger he'd been carrying around, fitted my sorceress perfectly.

Never taken one past act 1 so i was lokking fo something different. and yes their weapons do feel sub-par. But they get Claw-mastery (similar to barbs) right from the get go so it balances somewhat.
I don't play online anymore hardly the community feels like it's gone to crap.

Aye, though it's a shame, because it's free and AFAIK had a good bug and cheat detecting system.
But thanks to D2, I might just be getting into D3, which means buying a new pc, but oh well, Blizzard is yet to disappoint me - except with WoW, as I just couldn't get interested in it.

Blizz had a decent enough cheat detect, But they still got through, And always into games i was in!
But yeah D3 is shaping up to be good, But a step in a different direction. I liked the towns, not this caravan nonsense. Some of the caravan merchants seem pretty Awesome tbh though. (Jeweler unsocketing Jewels? Feth yes Please!)

I only played diablo 1 single player as a novelty of sorts.
My buddy and I were ladder champions for 2 seasons straight in diablo 2 LOD though. I loved that game, and I hope diablo 3 will be similar. So far, I like what I see and Blizz seldom disappoints.
Diablo 1 was a great game. I remember how many times I shuddered (played much younger than i am now.) When i heard "Ahhhhh Fresh Meat", then proceded to run like hell.
Honestly the Butcher was a pain in the Arse! I never killed him right away. I always came back to him later after i leveled up like 5 more times.

I too felt the burning hatred for 3rd act.. After playing beautifully dark and scary Diablo 1 I was puzzled.. Who on earth thought that fighting pygmeys would be a good idea? I want to fight daemons, battle the undead and struggle with unnamed horrors..
"The fluff" was soooo terrible.
Good things are good,.. so it's good
