I lucked out last Monday and received this gem of a bouquet from my girlfriend for Valentines Day. It is a hand made flower arrangement (artificial) with pots of paint and brushes acting as flower bulbs and stems. I was blown away by my girlfriend's ingenuity and willingness to incorporate hobby elements into a holiday that is typically not associated with gaming.

This got me wondering if anyone else has given or received creative gaming-related presents. So, Dakka, spill it. What awesome displays of gaming-goodwill have you given or received?

Here are some quick photos of the bouquet in question. I am really hesitant to dismantle it because I think it looks wonderful as is but I also really need some of those paints.

That's sweet!

My girl and I occasionally do something similar. I painted up a miniature of Alice and the Cheshire Cat for her some time ago, and she made a little Rending Pony for me a Christmas or two back.

You are some lucky dude my friend. You definately found a girl who understands and loves you. Closest thing I ever got was a box of mega bloks. To be fair she was trying to find something I liked, but really, really missed the mark. I was nonetheless touched.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Marry that girl.

Sometimes I give a conversion or piece of custom terrain to friends for christmas or their birthday.

Occasionally I paint something seasonal on my wifes fingernails. Her mother and sister like that too, and it usually gets me an extra figure or two.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

Dude.
Epic Valentine's Gift.

Do me a favor? Hug her and tell her I said, "Thanks for giving an old gamer hope!"

I'm a giver of gaming gifts, but nothing like this. I've never used a non-gaming set-up for gaming gifts.

For Christmas I bought the regulars in my gaming group (and myself) each a black mug with a purity seal on it. Found them right her in the Swap Shop.
Nothing as cool as your girl, though.

I'm both orderly and rational. I value control, information, and order. I love structure and hierarchy, and will actively use whatever power or knowledge I have to maintain it. At best, I am lawful and insightful; at worst, I am bureaucratic and tyrannical.

Seconded.

I've given some unique conversions to my gaming buddies for their birthdays and this year I'm painting someone's models as a birthday gift (I'm broke ATM). Don't recall ever receiving anything unique. I get plenty of sealed product tho

Excellent gift.

I give my friends gaming presents for Christmas and their birthdays.

For the past 5 or 6 years, I've given all 6 players our current D&D campaign a painted miniature of their character and the GM 1 or 2 monsters or bad guys.

For people's birthdays, I usually give a box of whatever 40k army they are playing. Like an IG heavy weapons squad or some fire warriors.

I'm with you there. I've painted -or am painting- minis for every PC in the AD&D group I DM. I find that the players really love it.
