ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END...
MiniWarGaming UK is very sad and disappointed to announce that the online store will cease trading with immediate effect.
The economic climate, VAT increases, supplier problems and general market forces have all had a negative effect on our business.
We would like to thank all of our customers for the loyalty that they have shown over the past year.
Please note that all current orders will be fulfilled this week.
If you have any questions, please email store@miniwargaming.co.uk
Please accept our most sincere apologies and Happy Future WarGaming
The MiniWarGaming Team
I think the UK has enough online sellers as it is. Plus they didn't offer anything special, so not really surprising.

The UK is loseing a lot of independent retailers online at present due to GW tightening its selling rules eg you are not supposed to sell unopned boxes BNIB on ebay if you are a store etc

I won a contest last year and got some points for the their store. I spent a little more of my own money than what I got in the contest and was pretty happy with their service. They had a lot of deals each week with some minis going for really good prices. I think I could have gotten Meganobz for $14.00 each one week when they were normally $22.00.
The thing is I don't buy much on ebay or from sites like this, unless it is a mini I can't get anywhere else and is something I really want. I pretty much buy all my stuff from my local comic book shop. They sell everything at GW's prices, but I like to think that I am helping them stay in business. I know a few guys who buy their stuff on ebay and then use it down at the shop. If everyone did that, the shop wouldn't be there in the first place and I would be playing casual games on my kitchen table.

This is one part of GWs evil empire that I believe in.. I wish theyd do more to make selling online not very profitable for countries with access to independent game stores with game space..
(I dont support it for Aussies due to ridiculous prices)

My local gaming club is based in their store in stafford and my lord this was quite a bombshell for most of us!
on reflection with those more in the know from the club it was the un-speedy service and complete lack of internet presence that brought them down...
no blog posts for months, podcasts for months, no account on forums like this to spread the word or atleast just enter peoples conciousness... and waiting three weeks for order? hell some of us waited two weeks and we are at the store to pick it up! they hadn't even placed the order with GW, not too business savvy but i'm sad to see it go - it was our 40k home and the discount was mighty... Automatically Appended Next Post: oh and MWG UK and MWG the one in canada are related in name only, its a franchise thing so i'm in no way saying MWG "the one in canada" is bad - i hear its really good. Thought i had better get that straight!
