and it kicked ass! Most BL books aren't that great, IMO, but this one was really good. I am in the process of making a Night Lords army so it was a really fun read for me.

It does a good job of showing what makes the Night Lords unique and cool.

Anyway, check it out if you want a fun read, I loved it.

Eye of Terror... I think

I too loved it, so much that it has inspired me to start a NL force.

An excellent book that really got me into the writing of Aaron Dembski- Bowden.
I can highly recommend 'Hellsreach' and 'The First Herectic' by the say author.

Yeah, I will have to read more of his stuff. A lot of the BL books are borderline unreadable, but Soul Hunter had me turning pages till it was done. I read it in two sittings and really loved it.

I like how the Night Lords stand for something. They aren't good guys by any means but they have a cause that they believe in. They actually believe in brotherhood and staying loyal to one another, even their Daemon Prince stays loyal to the Legion when it counts. They just happen to be completely ruthless bad-asses!

Curze is my favorite Primarch, too. Dude's like Batman on steroids without the "I don't kill" motto to slow him down. The fact that he lets himself be killed to prove his point makes him so much cooler than the other traitor Primarchs who are more one-dimensional.

Definitely has me stoked on my Night Lords Army.

OH yeah, and I love how the call Abbaddon out on being a failure that always gets his ass kicked by the Imperium! hahaha.

It was rather good wasn't it?

A considerable amount of £s later, and my pre-heresy Night Lords army is still growing.

Yeah I agree, I can sense that my Night Lords will grow to be a big army in my collection. The background for them is just too cool.

He's definitely one of the most talented writers that the Black Library publishes. I particularly like the way that Talos has to deal with the stereotypical Chaos Space Marine in his squad. I also like his depiction of the breakdown of morale and the scarcity of resources as a company of the Legiones Astartes becomes a Chaos Marine warband.

Yeah, exactly.

His characters actually arc throughout the story and change. They aren't so one-dimensional.

They actually do things that surprise you, which is uncommon in BL books.

Talos is easily one of my favorite characters in BL fiction. He and Honsou easily surpass Uriel Ventris.

Talos is not evil, he is ruthless and dedicated to his cause. He is also loyal to his comrades. He knows that they have failed, that they can't defeat the Imperium. But, he fights on anyway because he believes in the rightness of his cause.

That is just so much more complex and cool than the usual dip-gak, one dimensional characters you typically see.

And yeah, I love how they deal with Usaz the brainless Berserker. Haha, he is good at what he does, just annoying in his one-dimensional ways.

Also, Malcharion the dreadnought is bad ass. What a cool way to depict what it is really like to be a Dreadnought.

Definitely a good book, I want to read the rest of his stuff.
