I'm pretty sure you can, but I just would like to get some clarification before I ACTUALLY start using the cheerleader with a lasgun in a sanctioned skirmish. I play SoB, but I decided to get some Imp Guard to help with armor (and I like my shiny Punisher Leman Ross). SOooooo.... its probably a n00b question, but still.

As long as the wargear is accurate, you can use whatever you want as vets.

Schaffer and the last chancers don't have rules in the new codex. Also, if they did have rules, you still couldn't take them, as they are not on the list of things you can take in your SoB army. It is also worthy of note that whether or not you can take a non-standard Leman Russ tank is up for debate. Sorry to just bring bad news, but... yeah.

You could count whatever shaffer models you have as an infantry squad or veteran squad if you wanted.

Well, I kinda figured I couldn't use them as the 13th Penal, I originally just bought them cause Schaffer reminds me of "Chesty" Puller lol.

I don;t think you could use the whole package. There are 4 or 5 lasguners, a melta gun, and 2 heavy weapons. There's also 2 characters you could use as sergeants, one you could use as an attached comissar, and one with a sniper rifle.

That makes for potentially 7 and a half usable models for a veteran squad, 8 and a half if they can take sniper rifles as heavy weapons team. I say a half because you'd need to get a second guy to be a part of the heavy weapons team, and then 1 or two more lasguns/special weapons.

You can use snipers as special weapons. The unit would probably suck in game though.
