OK,

So the time has come for me to pick my last unit for this army I am aiming for a 1500 point list however my local club plays mostly 1250 point games so I am trying to make this viable for those games as well. So far I have the following.

1. One AoBR kit
2. One 10 man tach squad (missile launcher and plas rifle)
3. One landspeeder storm ( might not field this one )
4. One predator- side sponson's are magnetized
5. One chaplain in terminator armor.
6. One inronclad dred- all the bells and whistles

So I am trying to pick whats next Im thinking about trying to grab some more fast attack units. I like the idea of getting a attack bike and using it to push the enemy around or just cause distractions Or is it better to grab landspeeder or should I just use the LS-storm? I also am tossing the idea of grabbing a whirlwind for long range support but I have not found to many people that are "pro" whirlwind.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

So whats that...
1 force commander
2 tac squads
5 termis
LSS
Normal dread
Ironclad
pred
and a termi chaplain

Well first, how can a marine carry a las rifle Hmmm... well you could just add some rhinos to give your tacs some more mobility. LSS would work with some CC scouts with a couple of shotguns and a PF sarge. Some idea of whats on the normal dread would be handy. Oh and if you're doing the standard arms ironclad, put him in a pod.

Sorry should be "plas" and not "las"

The normal dred is just plain stock from the AoBR kit. I was thinking about getting scouts but I figured that was just too many foot soldiers Ive been thinking of getting a few razorbacks but I feel this army list is lacking and I just cant place it.

Razorbacks or rhinos would be good. Then some devastators with some serious anti tank capabilities.

From what I understand if I get a devastator squad that would make my list illegal according to the force organization chart.

... no? Dreads are Elites. Devs are Heavy Support. And I'd probably say another pred would serve you better than some devs due to points.

Doh! Your right, thanks!

So let's say I get two razorbacks or two rhinos( also is th limited cap of the razorback worth it) Is a attack bike or a devastator squad better?

Also are attackbike squads a good idea or is on enough.

I used a whirlwind pretty well back in the day but I couldn't tell you if they are ok now.

As to having too many foot troops? Never happen. You can always use more.

Attack bikes are ok but you probably want at least 2.

When you were playing this list, what did it feel like you were missing? Was the list too slow? Didn't have enough shooting? Not enough range?

You can never have too many tactical squads. At around 1500 points you are probably looking at getting another troop choice. You could go with some scouts, or another tac squad.

Transports aren't a bad idea.

I think another predator would be better than a devastator squad. Devs in the vanilla book are pretty over-priced.

A unit of attack bikes with MM can be really good mobile anti-tank, and can certainly dish out fire.

Personally, I would go with another troop choice, and maybe some rhinos.

A good rule of thumb is one troops choice per 500 points. Sticking your Marines in rhinos is a good idea as well. Buy the razorback kit instead though - it has the options for a razorback or a rhino, and you can just pop on and off the turret or hatches for the battle.

A vindicator would be a good choice with the rhinos, as it can advance with them and shell the crap out of whatever you want dead. It can soften targets up for your tac Marines. You might get bored building and painting so many Rhino chassis though.
