New Hampshire

I just moved to the Brentwood/Epping area of New Hampshire from Portland, Oregon. I'm looking for a gaming club, or a game store that supports open gaming with a group of guys that get together on a regular basis. I'm open to what is being played although some of my personal favorite games include... Legends of the Old West, Warmaster, Full Thrust and malifaux. I have also recently gotten into some historical stuff (I know that makes me an uber geek... but meh... I love history). If you are in that area or know of people that are please shoot me an email and introduce yourself!!!

You should check out The Game Castle in Londonderry. Good group of guys there. I moved from there last year but they had a good 40k Community, a pretty decent, but small, WHFB Community and there were always dudes there playing Flames of War.

"Our reputation speaks for itself, sir," said Loken.

"As does the reputation of the Imperial Fists," Sigimsund replied. "Are we going to scrap about it now? Argue which Legion is toughest?"

"The answer, always, is the wolves of Fenris," Torgadon put in, "because they are clinically insane."

Game Castle is definitely your best bet. 101 W to 93S to exit 4. 2.2 miles west off the highway. Lots of space & good tables. Good stock. Good people. Tuesday nights are the main league/active night, though Saturdays are pretty hopping too. It's mostly 40k and Warhammer, though with a smattering of FoW, Malifaux and Battletech, and a group of about 4-6 guys who play all sorts of different historical wargames who are in pretty much every week. They have quite a surprisingly good little hole in the wall sushi & chinese place literally next door as well.

As far East as you are, Dover's not too far a hike either, and Elite Hobbies there has some really nice folks. It's a smaller store, with less space, but they are quite nice and it's a picturesque little college town. Nice for walking around on weekends. Good pub literally next door.

Collectibles Unlimited is a great more general card and comic shop in Concord. They don't do much minis gaming, but used to have periodic events. The owner, Mike, is a really great guy; if you're working in Concord it's a great place to shop.

Myriad Games just opened a second location (had one down in Salem for years) in Manchester, which may actually be the shortest drive for you. Tuesday nights are also their biggest night; lots of general boardgaming, with some flavor-of-the-month minis gaming. Dystopian Wars is getting a lot of play recently. Also a little bit of Epic and some Battletech clickies recently. They also do some Uncharted Seas, some Malifaux, and I've seen other stuff there. It's kind of a small space, and doesn't lend itself to bigger minis games like WH & 40k (which is why I'm usually at the Game Castle), but the crowd is grown up and pretty nice, and the store is very clean, nice and professional.

Funny that you came out from Portland. A buddy of mine from here in NH moved out there a few years back; maybe you've played with him!

I'll throw a plug in for Elite Hobbies. Played there quite a bit back in college. Great crew and there is an active GW
group that plays regularly as well as folks that do FoW and other historical miniatures. Little small but nice and +1 for
the pub next door.

You there, out of the pool!
