Hey I need some rules-lawyer to tell me how a technicality works :

Position:

Broodlord------------ IG Infantry----------------Creed

Broodlord casts 'Aura of Despair' which debuffs -1 leadership from any unit in 12", this affects an infantry unit in between the stealers and Creed but does not have the range to debuff Creed.

Castellon Creed uses an order on the infantry next turn, he allows the infantry to use his leadership (10) for orders.

Does the Broodlord power debuff the leadership down to nine or not, as the broodlords power does not cover Creed?

ie do they get debuffed then use Creeds LD
or do they use Creeds LD and then get debuffed?

That's a pretty good question. I'm inclined to believe that they use his unmodified leadership, since they're using his leadership and not their own.

In regards to landraiders:

Necron Tomb somewhere in Scandinavia.

In this case brood lords power has no effect to kells power. Orders taken at ld 10 i think. Note that rule to roll order lds with officers ld is given by Jarran Kell, not by Creed.

''Their number is legion, their name is death.''

They're using his Ld, not their own, and it is their OWN leadership that has been reduced. It has no effect on the squad for the purpose of giving orders.

I know this is 40K ymdc, but this problem is abundant is WFB. GW errata it so that when a unit that is effected by a power that gives them a negative to their leadership, they still suffer the negative even when using someone else's leadership. So if unit A is made -2 leadership by say a magic banner with a range of 12", but their general is 15" away from the banner while still being with in 12" of his unit for inspiring presence, and he is conferring leadership 10 to unit A. They would be at leadership 8 because of the -2 from the magic banner. I know this is from fantasy, and probably not a huge help, but it is the only thing I can find that is in relation to the problem.
