i am looking to sell one of my armies (Crimson Fists) btu have no idea how to price them. I dont have nay pics yet but am hopefully goign to go to Warhammer World next week to get some pics in decent lighting.
To those peopel who do sell minis - hwo do you price them up?
here is my list if it helps at all:
Pedro Kantor
SM Captain
Chaplain w/ jumppack (conversion)
Command Squad (w/ apoth & freehand banner)
2 x 10 marine tac squads (one of them is from AoBR)
5 x Scout Snipers
5 x Scouts
5 x AoBR Termies
10 x Assault Marines (5 only base coated, sergeant w/ p.axe and storm shield)
10 x Sternguard (conversions made using tac marines, deathwatch bolters and metal CF pads & packs)
3 Bikes (1 with l-claw + 1 flamer)
1 Attack Bike w/ M.Melta
1 x AoBR Dread (m.Melta)
LS Storm
LS Typhoon (H.Flamr & M.Melta)
2 x Drop Pods
1 x Pred w/ lascannon Turret (las and H.Bolter sponson magnetise for swappage)
1 H.Bolter Razorback
1 Rhino (unpainted)
All painted units are painted with corercet colour trim/company markings as per codex (black trim for 5th company), the Sternguard even have freehand laurels on the helmets.
So for the lack of details. I've never tried to seel anythgin before but i'm never going to use it and the army is just gathering dust, might as well go to good use somewhere.

think this would need to be posted in the trading and selling section of the forum...
One of the things I always take into consideration is the current lowest availible price. Which is currently 20% off retail price. Many online stores hit that mark. Well painted or not, people can get it NIB for much less then you possibly paid for it.
So go to the games workshop site, go through their online store and add everything in the army into the cart, then see the final retail price of all those items. give it the 20% off and go from there.
If your looking to sell it as a single sale, your probably going to have to hit the 20% off mark or lower. You can possibly sell the minis for higher then retail only if you set aside your best painted minis and sell them separately. More often then not people arnt going to buy nicely painted minis in large amounts, for a price your willing to part with them. You going to have to prove superior painting and modeling of the minis to get a higher then retail price. If you can get decent pics of them, you can have your workmanship given a 0-10 rating on "cool mini or not". which isnt a terrible way to determine your quality of work.
I almost always strip the minis I get from ebay or trades, well painted or not. So paying more then 20% off retail just isnt worth it as I'm going to be putting more work into them then i probably care to. so its usually easier just to buy new at those prices.
Also take shipping into account. whats it gonna cost to safely get this army to some one else?

good advice. I didn't put it in the trading forums as i didn't have a clue what to swpa for them, thought i'd coem here for advice first.
I would hope that my painting would be good enough to sell some of the bits (specifically the chraracters adn vehicles) in separate lots, so i'd probably sell on a per unit basis rather than the whoel army as a batch sale.
i'll try to get soem pics and post in the trade forums for for advice. Thansk again.
MODS - feel free to lock/move this if you want.

You can say you have all this stuff and you want money for it. Nobody will get in your way. If things are REALLY well painted you can expect close to retail. If they're average painted, 20-25% off, if they're not so well painted as much as 50% off.

I would suggest selling them individually, or in small lots. You are probably going to get less in total than if you sold them together, but you are going to sell them. I think total armies, with a starting price of several hundred dollars tend to not sell very often. So if you really need to get rid of them (moving, need the money, etc), then sell them piecemeal. If you really want to send them to a good home, sell them together.
