Is there any 40k stuff planned for Gencon weekend in Indianapolis? I have looked on the Gencon website but been unable to find anything? Anyone?

Events won't be available for browsing till closer to the con. While GW will most likely not be there, there will probably be people running some 40k/Fantasy games.

Most events won't post until Late March or Early April.

There have been 40k activities at every GenCon I've attended, so I would think that there will still be some sort of tournament.

Apologies for the slight necro, but there are no 40k/fantasy events at gencon listed anywhere I can see. Does anybody know if there will be?

It would be great if they had a 40k tournament, since alot of gamers would drive down to Indy. I hope they do, the Midwest needs as many as possible! You read the forums and all we see is big events happening in the East Coast, Southwest, or in the West. Besides Adepticon, what else do we have in the Midwest? Unless of course I 've been living under a rock?

There were several 40k events last year that were pretty fun. I remember a 1250 tournament put on by some group called "Shenanigans"? And then there was an 1850 put on by another group.

any news on any events at gencon yet? hate to lug my army out there if there is no events taking place

Maybe it is a surprise (at least it was to me when the calendar came out).... but there are NO 40K events this year.

There were several to choose from last year in multiple point values from a multitude of gaming groups.

I think there was sooooo much, attendance for any 1 event was pretty low. 40K requires a ton of space (from Gen Con) and terrain to pull off. If you expect 40+ and only get 10, you probably lose money on your event.

I am pretty stunned there isn't even 1 event though. Bummer.

Gencon 40k presence dropped significantly in the mid to late 90's when GW stopped going. Prior to that, GW had a big booth and ran large WHFB and 40k tournies. After that, you'd still see the occasional tourney and there were usually several well run setting/campaign type games where everything was provided (I usually tried to sign up for one 40k game every gencon). I haven't gone for the past 4 years or so and can't comment on those years. I am surprised that there are zero events though...

From what I heard, the only 40k/WHFB games that will be going on are host by individuals. There are no sponsored tournaments ever since GW got kicked out.
