I'm trying to get myself into a Black Templars army, but I'm not really sure how to go about it. I really want a list that represents the fluff, that showcases who the Templars are as a chapter. Any list ideas?

Don't have a codex in front of me but if you're looking for a fluff list I would suggest working in the following units.

A LRC - BT staple vehicle

A crusader squad with CCW/BP (if you want you can make a 21 man squad 10 initiates 10 neophytes 1 chaplain) – again staple unit for BT

Terminators – with LC, furious charge, and accept any challenge they are the best CC unit in the codex.

An Emperors’ champion with Accept any challenge – fluff wise it’s great, game wise it is also great

Chaplain’s – Very big fluff wise for BT

I would honestly wait until the end of the year to start BT, because they are on the rumored list. I know from experience that it sucks to buy an army and then 6 months later (after it is all built and painted) have a new codex for the army to come out and change all the rules.

Do you know where I can find the list of rumored new armies?

Yeah right, they recently FAQed an army they intend to redo at the end of the year. That makes sense. How about the DA? The GK are next, and then another wave of DE, then the rumors seem to lean towards necrons at the end of the year. It's my bet that the BT don't get updated again for at least 2-3 years.

Bear in mind a fluffy BT army is a non-competitive one.

I could not agree more. The fluff will steer you down the path of bitter defeat. In the current meta game, the BT work best as a shooty force with some small but potent doses of assault.

TBH an all-pod BT army would be reasonably competitive, as well as being fluffy. Orbital assaults, pinpoint strikes and brutal slaughter in close range sounds pretty much like Templars to me. I'd agree with the point that shooty Templars are better ATM though, unfortunately
