Okay, I know this sounds like a dumb question, but it seems like I can't find anyone who still plays RPGs. Apparently, they all used to play D&D, but no one has played anything else. If you do still play, post what you play!
PS: To anyone who plays the World of Darkness Series, they are amazing. I love personal horror.
PPS: To those who don't play World of Darkness Series, Check it out. They are fun and often very original. I think they are worth a shot.

I play D&D 4e as a minotaur fighter, not many people I know play pen & paper RPG's but video-game RPG's seem popular (I play video-game RPG's as well ). What I like about pen & paper RPG's is you're limited by only your imagination instead of
technology, whereas video-game RPG's I like that you can get things accomplished more quickly and it's predictability can be advantageous at times.

I still play with a group of mates. We mostly play really simple homebrew games, as in the rules are written on a post-it note kind of simple, and they're mostly one-shot games.
The last one had everyone stat themselves, and the game started with everyone sitting in my house, when suddenly the zombie outbreak started. The game before that was the same, except it was Russians invading.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Never played D&D in my life, though I briefly played "Vampire: The Masquerade."...
I do however enjoy the "written RPGs" here on Dakka...but I would assume that's somewhat different than a typical "RPG".

Well, written RPG's are a lot more closer to pen and paper than video-game RPG's. In fact pen and paper is pretty much a cross between a table-top game and storytelling. Also I have not tried LARPing either (another genre of role playing).

You name it, i've either played it, or know someone who has. Currently GMing a Pathfinder campaign, using some D&D campaign settings. Dragonstar in specific. Its D&D in space, without all the problems of spelljammer. well... most of the problems with spelljammer...
But my favorites are: 40k RPG's. DH, RT, DW. D&D/pathfinder, shadowrun, Unisystem. BESM is also fun at times, but i haven't played it much. Liked old WoD, but really don't like the new WoD.

I used to play World of Darkness stuff pretty extensively, also Kult and Call of Cthulu - plus the obligatory WHFRP, which was and remains my favourite RPG of all time. Despite the occasional grumble, in all honesty, I love the Warhammer mythos. It's just brilliant.
Would quite like to get back into it, but I don't know anyone who RPGs anymore - plus uni, work, band, fiancee and Labrador....
Pretty packed schedule.
(p.s I don't like the look of the new WoD either. Where's all the old clans? Boo!)

Recently and for the last 20 years I have played D&D, Star Wars D6, Call of Cthulhu, and Shadowrun, just to name a few.
Our Star Wars D6 game is pretty fleshed out. We have our characters, characters that are the children of our characters, ancestors from the Tales of the Jedi Era, etc. We have like a 100 page timeline of just about everything that has happened since we started the campaign back in Middle School.
Sadly I think it has come to an end. One player has his head up his new girlfriend's ass 24/7, another got married and moved a few states away. I am married, but the wife likes the RPGs too. The other player's are about like me, but they have turned into bitter donkey-caves over the years. I think it is time to call it quits.

Been tabletop roleplaying since late 89 with AD&D 2nd, the main focus for our games was a fantasy setting I created in early 90, which has evolved a lot since it started.
I switched from D&D with the release of the D20 system, really didn't like the feats system, plus a few other things, so went full on, said what the heck and created our own system based around a D100 roll.
Been fine tuning it ever since, have folders stored in cuboards full of stuff, maps that cover walls, and so much data kept on memory sticks. So much so, I'm a little paranoid and
have two back up sticks with the data on (one isn't even stored at my home) in case something tramatic happens like a fire.
Also in my time played a lot, and I mean a lot of the World of Darkness, mainly Werewolf the Apocalypse. With a total of nineteen players over the years, and three different groups, two of which only shared myself as ST, and Auleria as a player.
I'm actually writing up my mini Apocalypse at the moment, with the intention of posting it online with an alert to all those I still know on facebook who played in my games, so they can see if their characters survive, or how they went out with a bang.
I say mini as most of the apocalypse in my WoD occured in the spirit realm, the physical was barely effected, or at least not in the way the Garou expected. All our games where leading to this anyways, the Wyrm had been strangled power wise by a couple of key events by my players and it was the Weaver that was the bigger threat by the end. Still a trukk load of Garou have died though, the population has more than halfed, Wyrm minions have been shattered, one of the triat is destroyed, and the weaver is trapped just as the Wyrm was.
I've also played various others Vampire the Masquerade, Star Wars D20, AD&D Dark Sun, Dark Heresy, AD&D Forgotten Realms, Marvel Super Heroes, Dark Ages, Werewolf Wild West (although it was often a past life game, so connected to main Werewolf characters anyways) and Changeling the Dreaming.
Also how I met Aurelia, she came to one of the two RPG clubs I ran in the mid nineties.
I'd probably admit mind, that around 50-60% of all my games have been my own fantasy setting since 89, with 30-40% being Werewolf the Apocalypse. The rest take up no more than 5% of the give or take between those main two settings.

I have a Pathfinder game I play in on Sundays and then I run a hybrid Ravenloft 3.5 (with Pathfinder character classes) game on Mondays. My game's inspired one of the players to want to kick off a Mage game in the future, and another guy wants to do Call of Cthulhu (the d20 version). Also sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be played are Dark Heresy, Vampire, HackMaster, and Inquisitor.
Yes, people still play RPGs. We just lack the time to play them as much as we want.

Still play D&D (4E) every Thursday evening 7-11, and every other Sunday, 11a-10p.
Played the heck out of 3rd & 3.5 on pretty much the same schedule.
Played a lot of homebrewed 2nd ed and Vampire (with brief excursions into other WoD) in the 90s, and the legenday and infamous Synnibarr in the early 90s.
Played both D&D and AD&D in the 80s.
Plus a few other games here and there.

Yeah dudes! Dragon Age II on March 8th! WOOOOO!!!!!
But seriously. I've got (on the rare occasion my group gets together) a Paladin which, for purposes of role playing, my character insists on pronouncing "puh-lay-din."
I'm a much bigger fan of the 40K RPGs, especially Deathwatch, which is the only RPG with subject matter I've liked enough to actually own. I'm honestly not huge on the fantasy setting. Honestly, swords and magic < chain-swords and pis-magic IN SPAAAAAAACE!!!

I really love the WoD game, old WoD. Vampire: The Masquerade stuff, this new bunch of WoD stuff is crap. Malkavians are Malkavians alright, not under some other stupid clan.
But WoD is my favorite and I played some D&D 3.5 a couple of years back. It was good fun, enjoyed making the DM as mad as possible by killing all his characters.
I always wanted to try Deadlands, it seems like a ton of fun. But right now the one game I want to play or be made, I dunno if there is one. Dragon Age Pen and Paper, oh my gods that would make me go nuts.
