So I wanted to add some touches to my ultramarines army to show there recent victories, especially against a few of my pals that ive beaten (guard and necrons specifically). Do you think heads and body parts from those armies that i could acquire (and i think i could get hold of most bitz from those armies) on bases would look good? or maybe attaching them to the sides of my land raider, predator, and other larger models? anyone have any ideas that would really give my men that final, intimidating touch? anyone have any pictures they would like to share? thanks

Umm never thought SM's took such trophies around with them.

Weapons made from TY sure. but head and body parts i think not. Unless of course your marines are chaos.

Tyranid hunters might take the pelts of the nids they kill. Otherwise Ultras would avoid taking any bodyparts from their foes.

Maybe see if you can get a spare Platoon banner or something. SMs would definately capture the standards of other armies to demoralize them, as well as a general "screw you" to their enemies.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Typically, Marines would mark kills, campaigns, or specific battles. I love the vehicle markings breakdowns in the Imperial Armour books, explaining the significance of stripes of Land Raiders and the like. Rarely would they parade around with spoils of war, unless it was a very recent capture, even then, it would be restrained. Can't let them boys get too crrrrazy, now can we?

They would, however, parade with any captured relics. In fact the Sacred Relic was a purchasable upgrade before (still is in some codexes). If your opponent has a particular snazzy piece of wargear, replicate it and have a marine bear it into battle.

My terminators are modelled with dead firewarriors either lodged on their blades, or trampeled underfoot, because they always slaughter them in CC

There are Space Marines that take trophies like that but they're mainly Space Wolves and other "barbaric" chapters. The Ultramarines are too civilised for that though and mark their victories through campaign badges and on their standards. Or maybe even capturing enemy standards themselves

I would model them into the bases of your marines. As though the marines are walking over a battle field of fallen Tau or Necron.

I like stuff.
