Sorry for the time between updates. Before the pics, a painting catastrophe. On the Monday before the Tourny my 4 year old boy got into the room while I was at work. He painted a little box blue as a present to me. Then he decided to help daddy by painting his new models blue also. So instead of spending the last 5 days before the event adding squad markings and decals, building a display board, or anything else; daddy had to clean and repaint the entire Army to table top standard.
The Paint Judge must have felt my pain because I got 23 points out of 32 max.
As for the event itself, I toned down this list from my normal Tourny list...and it showed. A lousy list, bad dice rolling all weekend long, and a few key errors that as soon as I did them I fessed up and told my oponents they were going to win...All I could do was hold them to a lower level of victory. I went 4 losses and 1 Major Victory. This event used random pairing each game and I ended up fighting FNP heavy Blood Angels, MC heavy Nids, Vindicator/TWC Space Wolves, MechDar (again), and finally Scout heavy Raven Wing.
The drop-pod IronClad was hideous. In 4 games he would land, whiff on his shot, then get ripped apart by MCs, melta spam, Wraithguard, whatever. In 1 game he landed, destroyed a weapon on a tank (a mistake...I should have flamed the troops in range first), then he got torn up. I think I'm going to scratchbuild some Sternguard and replace him. He never wins his points back and dies before even becoming more than a nuiscance. Best shot of the weekend was the Plasma Squad wiping out an entire Terminator squad in 1 volley. Worst save was taking 4 bolter wounds on 3 Terminators and rolling 3 ones and a two. That was about par for my dice all weekend.
Still, a good efent with good people and still had a ton of fun.
The list:
HQ: Lysander (with the Termies)
ELITE: Iron Clad dred w heavy flamer/melta in drop pod.
ELITE: Assault Termies, 3x TH/SS, 2X LCLC, Land Raider
TROOP: Tac Sqd; Flamer, LasCannon, SGT with power weapon, Razorback.
TROOP: Tac Sqd; Flamer, LasCannon, SGT with power weapon, Razorback.
TROOP: Sniper Scouts with Telion (infiltrate)
TROOP: Scouts with combat blades, SGT with power weapon (outflank)
HEAVY: Vindicator
HEAVY: Vindicator
HEAVY: Dev Sqd; 4x Plasma Cannon

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

I like the purple! Overall a good army to be proud of!

Also, with the Ironclad, you are dropping it by itself. Of course he will die immediately.
